OMG Bananas are icky... We only get them for banana bread or for the doggies :rolleyes:

I agree Shelb'smum! I HATE bannans I once sat at the table all day long at daycare because I was being fed Bannana pancakes My daycare teacher finally called my mom and was all confused, "What's wrong with her, she's not finishing her food and I dunno what to do." "Well, you're feeding her bannan's! She'll sit there all day!" lmao! :rolleyes: I HATE BANNANA cant even cut em up for the dogs, so they dont get any. I gag

Just for you guys contemplating weight loss, and cutting back the dog's food. You can substitute plain, low sodium (or rinsed regular) canned green beans for some of the kibble. It will help fill up the tummy, but not add much in the way of calories.

 

When Ginger needed to lose weight, she got about 3/4 cup daily of Canidae Platinum, and 2/3 can daily of green beans. Worked like a charm.

Taz

- 42 pounds, about 20 inches (estimate)

- just turned 3

- male (intact)

- raw diet includes elk, sheep, chicken, green tripe, pork necks, salmon, etc.

- about 20 ounces of food a day

- activity level: moderate to high (~4x/week hikes, weekend swimming/fetching, ~3x/week herding sheep)

- food they are being fed - Raw with very minimal veggies/fruit

- amount of food per day - 1.5lbs-2lbs

- activity level - Herding 2 times a week, 3 mile runs daily, occasional evening bike rides

Wow! Those coats are gorgeous! My girl got shaved about 6 mos ago and her coat is still growing in, but it's never been shiny or soft like some of these look. I've heard fish oil will help with that... must do a search.

 

I'm not gunna post pics of Skip yet. I'm still working on slimming her chubby tummy down :rolleyes:

Any interest in reviving/updating this thread? I ran across it while discussing activity levels in BCs and realized that many of the pics are missing and we have a ton of new members. :) I know everyone likes to post pics of healthy dogs, so... ;)

approximately 22 inches tall (Doesn't stand still well:) and is 38 pounds.

Eats 3 cups per day of Diamond Naturals Extreme Athlete

Exercise: 1-2 hours chuckit, running, daily off leash walks of minimum 2 miles (circles the whole time so probably more for him)

18 inches already and 25 pounds

Eats 3 cups per day of Diamond Naturals Chicken/Rice

Exercise: 1-2 hours chuckit, running, daily off leash walks of minimum 2 miles, tricks and shaping atleast twice a day anywhere from 10 minutes to half hour, agility ground work atleast twice a week, often more. Hoping to do herding atleast weekly if not a couple times a week.

Salmon kibble, 1/3 to 1/2 Lb. raw meat or

fish, milk-bones, assorted lettuce cores,

fruit, etc. as I have it, greenie every

other day

- amount of food per day 1 ½ cups kibble, 1/3 to 12 Lb. meat/fish,

4 small Milk-Bones at bedtime, and

whatever my dog-walker and his MOM give her

- activity level 2 hours running, fetch etc. w/other dogs

(dog walker) 5 days a week,walks,training,

Frisbee, fetch with me as I’m able

 

She's a bit bigger than I'd like at the moment, but not too much.

Amount Of Food Per Day: 2 1/2 cups

Activity Level: Runs 4-6 miles a day with me, ball play, frisbee, agility. A busy boy. This isn't the best photo of him, but it sure is one of the cutest! Plus it's the only body shot I have of him on my work computer. :P
