urge to herd
I'm so sorry to hear this, it must be hard for all of you. You did a great thing just to be willing to go and check him out. Ruth
MrSnappy
Well that's a real shame and I feel badly for poor Fly. If you are still looking for a drivey prick eared adolescent though, I have a 9 month old female from working parents with your name all over her. MaryP
What a horrible outcome to what sounded like such a happy story. I'm so sad for Fly and for his rescuer who had to see his life end so tragically. Wow, that really makes me sad. I sure wish you luck in your search for your next dog. Woodenlion
If this is insensitive, I apologize. May I ask why Fly had to be put down because of a seizure? I don't understand. Toni
Bordercentrics
Toni, The seizure lasted for over 45 minutes and was still happening....He was screaming in pain the entire time. The vet could not do anything for him. Mary Ann called me yesterday morning in tears. She has ordered a necropsy. Kathy Robbins
Woodenlion
I didn't realize. That is terrible for all concerned. Poor Beautiful Fly Toni

RaisingRiver
The vet said there was a lesion on the brain that began to bleed. It came, they believe from a rare form of blood cancer that passed the brain/blood barrier. There was nothing that could have been done to help him. bc friend
Knowing you couldn't have done anything to help doesn't ease the loss but it is a comfort - at least it was for me when I lost Meg to a rare diffuse form of lung cancer which wasn't diagnosed until autopsy.
