Can two dogs trial at once?

I have two herding dogs and was wondering if two dogs are ever allowed to trial together at the same time.

It's called brace, and is a special sort of trial. Not all dogs are cut out to work together like that, and it is rather advanced stockwork. You need to be an experienced handler with excellent dogs to pull it off.

Okay Thank you so much for all the information. I was just incredibly curious if this was something that ever happens or not as I’ve never seen it happen before.

Where do you live?  Ian Caldicott in Scio, Oregon is a long-time brace supporter/encourager and holds a brace competition at his Sheep Thrillz Trial every year in July.  I'll bet there are some good YouTube videos out there as well.

Great!  You can stay informed about upcoming trials at Ian's on his webpages, http://www.wolston.com/ or http://www.stockdog.com/.  The next big trial there will be the famed Northwest Championship, the longest-running sheepdog trial in the West (maybe in North America?),  May 17-19.  The Linn County Lamb and Wool Fair runs that weekend, so it's a very fun outing.  Hope to see you there!
