D'Elle Posted February 19, 2019 Report Share Posted February 19, 2019 One thing I have always done with training recall is to call the dog, reward with very high value treat when the dog comes, then release the dog to go play again. The dog gets everything good that way, it is a "win-win". Please don't think of your puppy as "stubborn". He's just a baby dog and is easily distracted. He will grow in his desire to work with you if you make it fun and are 100% consistent with reinforcement of the cue and rewarding the good response.
