Carol Harper
I have a 4 month old female border collie. She started having what looks like a seizure about 5 days ago. I have taken her to three vets and not one can tell me exactly why she is doing this. Is there anyone there that has the same problem now or in the past with their border collie? Help me I want to do what is best for my puppy. Thank you for your help.
Cholla1
What kind of seizures are they, how long, how often? Any reason like being dehydrated from the heat, any stomach bug recently? Coccidiosis? Four months old is a little young for idiophatic epilepsy. Have your vets done any bloodwork, checked for liver values? When was your dog vaccinated last and for what? Read here for more information on epilepsy but remember that it may not be that. Seizures can have many reasons, epilepsy is only one of them: http://www.canine-epilepsy.com/ Hopefully your vets will find what is causing them soon.
