(My) Molly grows up.

Recommended Posts

So, you must have some new ones, then :)

Yes, that might be a hint.

My Molly has a new injury (back, soft tissue, 110 pound dog literally fell off a truck onto her, healing nicely, today's MRI and xray were "excellent" and the dining room table incident is rear view mirror now ... she will make me old before my time ...) and I have almost no pictures since "Blackhawk Down" moment.

So, the burden is on your Molly :/

(dog that fell on Molly is called Blackhawk)

Okay, I suck at detail. I did not read page 2. There ARE new pics!

Ruth - that pink monkey is my Molly's. She would likely curl up and let herself die without it :/

Yeah, my Molly's pink ropey toy of love that she might die without is a braided, fleece leash (it's designed to be a tug toy, too). I love those things for being soft on my hands and durability - also being able to cart a toy around by attaching it to the dog. Makes a decent 'flirt pole', too.

I'm glad your Molly's recovering well. Mine managed to break her canines off playing Tug with 120lbs of Thud while I wasn't looking. Puppies, man.

Oh and her weight at the vet when we went for the teeth thing was a hair under 14lbs at two days shy of 12 weeks. I'll want to remember that, later.

All right, let's get this CMP's Molly and CptJack's Molly confusion straightened out. It does NOT help that both your user names start with 'C'!

CMP's Molly is a tri colored girl, and has a bit fluffier coat. CptJack's Molly looks to be a smoothie, and blk/white, so far.

That they both have pink, rope-like toys doesn't help either. My organizing-everything-all-the-time tendencies, (sometimes known as OCD,) are somewhat molly-fied by the above comparison. ;)

They are both just cute as the dickens! CMP, sorry that your Molly-girl is back on the restricted duty list, hope she heals quickly. And that no further trouble ensues.

Yep, mine is the black and white smooth.

I suspect we're going to be confusing people for a while to come. Whoops!

Also mollie-fied. Brilliant.

Heh :)

My Molly is black/white (well, that color of black that happens when there are several reds in the family tree) with very little white on her face or body and the full white bib. She's going to be a rough coat - at the moment she looks sort of mangy with tufts of hair sprouting up here and there :/

They're both cute and sounds like they both have fully mastered the art of "puppy-ness" with all its attendant nerve-wracking antics :)

I know I *just* posted pictures, but she's 12 weeks old today and some of these just delighted me too much not to share.

Yeah. They're THRILLED.

Much better.

Don't stalk the other dogs, Molly - RUDE.

I just love Kylie's tail, okay?

Kylie's realizing that Molly can be FUN. In reasonably small doses.

hahahaha - great pics.

Today I saw a cat being successfully herded. For the rest of the day my Molly pranced around like the queen of all things.

Molly (your Molly) has the cutest ears ever.

Also ... how are you getting the images inline? Using an HTML tag? <img src=...> or what? All I can find in the tools is attachment option.

Her ears are all over the place, lately. I don't think they have the first idea what they want to do, but they're adorable and make me smile.

In the toolbar when you click into 'post reply' on the second (bottom) line, there's a little green and blue square. (11th from the left, 9th from the right). Click that and a pop up box will show up for you to post your image URL in and it inserts it into the post.

Man, it's about time I posted on this thread and told you how frickin CUTE your puppy is (not that you don't already know). I'm not usually a fan of BC mixes or smoothies, but there's something about that face...I also vote on lots of playing-with-Kylie pictures! That's great to see.

I'll be honest - if I had met my aestetic standards, she'd be rough coated, prick eared, purebred male, and have at least a full collar and longer socks. But she's the right individual puppy at the right time and I absolutely ADORE her. And as a result find her pretty stinking cute, too :P

Aww, that's awesome to hear. That's the great thing about this breed, is that they're going to be incredible no matter what they look like.

Must not be showing on my tablet. I will check on a computer when I get home. Thanks!

Aww, so cute!!! I used to prefer rough coated dogs and I still think they're gorgeous. But I'm a smooth coat convert. A romp through a muddy swamp with little green sticker things gives one a huge appreciation of smoothies. Kolt was dry, clean and sticker free by the time we got back to the house. Kenzi needed a half hour of grooming before she was allowed in the house... :o

^ Oh my. Yes, they're beautiful but not easy to keep proper, that's for sure. I'm sure I'll learn my lesson eventually.

Oooh yes. I am a big fan of the LOOK of rough coats, but between Kylie and Thud (the big brown guy in my signature) I've got all the grooming I can easily handle, already. Also fur dust bunnies.

And, while I really, really think nothing's as gorgeous as a black and white rough coated BC, I've got a feeling that Molly's going to grow up into a dog I find beautiful... both objectively and because she's mine and I love her.

I am actually really excited to see what she grows into. Are you planning on doing any herding with her?

I didn't get her with the intention of herding, but it's something I may investigate when she's older. In reality, she's a puppy from an oops litter, with a BC mom and an ACD/BC mix dad. Both of her parents worked, but daily work on a moderate sized farm. I'd like to see what she does with livestock, but it isn't important to me personally.

(And no, I did not pay an outrageous amount of money for her - not even as much as the vaccinations and worming she got cost.)

I liked rough coats because that's all I knew, really. Because they have always been a part of my life, in my inner mind a Border Collie was a black and white long haired dog. Period. I remember being shocked the first time I saw a merle. Now I love them all.

My Molly is a rough coat and from the wings already sprouting from her ears, I will guess that she is going to be a fairly long haired adult. I make sure she gets lots of fish oils and add some coconut oil to her food twice a week - hoping to encourage a soft, brushable, shiny coat.

Our bedtime routine is a grooming. She loves it so much that even though it means bedtime, as soon as she sees the brushes in my hands she runs to her bed like her ass was on fire, plops down and barks at me to hurry. It's an awesome segue from the nightly zoomies to sleepy puppy who is happy to go to bed.

Um ... I digress as usual.
