jvw
Oh dear, I'm so sorry I am not in a position to help. But I hope you find a workable situation soon! Jennifer
Liz P
When I have had to go out of town for long periods of time I have left my dogs with a sheepdog trainer. They get daily work, so I know they are not stuck in a cage bored out of their minds, and that option ends up costing less than boarding at a kennel. My older retired dog got twice daily walks. The trainer's daughter in high school was exercising for sports at school, so I paid her a little money to take my dog with her when she went jogging around the farm in lieu of a training fee to her mother. If your parents won't pay for that option you could get a part time job. You can definitely earn enough to cover board and train doing PT work. I had to do that when I was your age and my Dad lost his job. My parents said I would need to cover my dogs' expenses, so I worked Saturdays and Sundays and pulled in about $650 a month before taxes. Echo
Thank you both very much A sheepdog trainer sounds like it would be great, but I am not sure if there are any around here...do you know of any? Also would it matter if Kaiser has never done any herding?
