LOL! I love Odin's expression in that first picture. It's like you can just hear him saying "Really? You can't be serious. I'm not even allowed to chew on my own leash."

So, Maverick wants an encore. He didn't think it very fair that Kayzie got three pictures and he only got one.

So here's one more, one of better ones over all in fact. He's so serious and focused in this one.

I have a whole series of Max with his dog, Fly but this is my favorite.

MaxFly2.jpg

I could easily come up with 20 more, it's hard to pick because I took a ton of photos this year.

Laura

Laura, I've seen your photos, and I can attest to the fact that you could come up with FAR more than 20 great ones! But this one, of Max with Fly... that one is really special, and I'm sure Max and his parents will treasure it forever!

I'll just choose one. My three at the CBCA/Western Canadians in Cranbrook, BC.

Kristi, I remember your posting that one. You also have so many great ones, but at the risk of repeating my last post - great choice!!!

Not quite an all-time fav, but I like it because this is how Allie looks at me when we're walking together, and not at all how she generally looks at the camera:

and one more, just because I think she looks pretty

Hey, it's about TIME we finally see Allie on here! Love the lighting on the third one, especially!

Odin and his adorable sister - two more we need to see here more often!!! Love the Border-collie-owner-in-training shot with the chuckit!

OK, I'll play, but there's no way I can limit it to just one. Especially when photographers more talented than I were kind enough to give me some great shots of Duncan.

I like this one because it captures his intensity, at the place where we used to hike daily, until they started ticketing off-leash dogs:

I like this one, because it displays his silly side:

5653007007_b78a35ea4d_z.jpg

I selected this one because it depicts his favorite activity while on vacation: morning prayers to the god of frisbees (the demonic orange glow in his eye is a reflection from the disc):

Here's a photo that symbolizes my attempts to improve my skills in photography. It was taken using a Russian Helios lens (known for its whirly bokeh), that I purchased after being inspired by Anda's photos:

6254295193_eea2608c33_z.jpg

This is my favorite photo of him taken by someone else (the oh-so-talented Michelle Dobbs). It was taken at his first (but hopefully not last!) clinic:

6507771733_43846d0ccc_z.jpg

And, finally, this photo is special to me, because I took it at the lesson where it all finally started to "click" for him, and he was transformed from "wild child" into what I hope is the beginning of a lifelong partner. Here you see him wearing, on balance and at a sedate pace, in the midst of an absolutely drenching downpour. (It takes a dedicated trainer to keep working to capture the moment in this sort of weather!).

I've taken photos of others' dogs at sheepdog trials this year, most of the best of which I think I've already posted here. But here are a couple of recent shots that I thought were fun, from a Patrick S clinic I audited:

Linda's Juno, demonstrating that "Baa Ram Ewe" isn't just for pigs:

6413653897_b7582f3ede_z.jpg

And Linda's (retired Open dog) Jaffe, looking regal while enjoying his job of exhausting sheep:

6421310595_8a52a4aee5_z.jpg

I liked this shot because it reveals just how much these dogs *love* their work:

6507890839_c7c15b8ecd_z.jpg

And here is one of a dog, patiently waiting its turn to work (white rectangle in the background is a drive panel):

Yeah, but why shouldn't others share the pleasure!

(BTW: I tried to send you a message via FB but it seems to hate me tonight).

LOVE the expression of bliss on the face of the "other person's" dog (at a SDT? which one??? and why didn't we see more of your photos of THAT?)

I try to restrain myself on Allie pictures here because of her dubious connection to Border Collie-dom. I believe the headrub recipient is Jean Singer's Tug, taken at Hoof and Paw trial in 2007. Gah, I can't believe how long it's been since I've made it out to a trial!

I know, right?! Thanks everyone :) And it is so great to "see" all your beautiful dogs again! I hope to be on here more now that I am starting to figure this whole "pet human" thing out. Talk about a high energy, high drive, high maintenance breed!
