Pippin's person
Rut-roh!! I don't see myself getting anything done today.... or tomorrow! Ditto that--morning walks already cut short so we could watch. It's really, really great.
Eileen Stein
If any of you have specific feedback on the pluses and minuses of the webcast coverage, how to make it better, etc., please PM either Heather or me. Thanks.
Cody & Duchess
On the long run out to the sheep - there is a guy on a horse - is he a judge?
Maja
I saw two people on horseback, I think they bring and hold the sheep in place. they look real cool. This is great! Maja
Eileen Stein
You're right, Maja -- the sheep are taken from the holding pen to the set-out spot and held there by two riders on horseback. The two judges are under a tent behind the handler's post, where they have the best view of the lines the sheep take from one obstacle to the next. Cody & Duchess
Thanks - amazing. The first run out I saw- could not believe how far the dogs had to go.
Cody & Duchess
Another question - the handler is instructing the dog to Lie Down - the dog is not doing it but still achieving the goal. Is this a display of the dog thinking on its own and knowing what is best or blowing off the handler?
jdarling
I think one of the key elements to the webcast is the announcer. And you guys have one of the very best in Ray Crabtree.
jdarling
And I love how the time shows up occasionally ... and also the handler name and dog's name. Just an absolutely incredible job. Kudos to all those that put this together.
JaderBug
Watching it now... this is great. I told my husband it's like I'm there... but not really ;-) Really wish I was there!! What's the average age of these dogs? or is there one?
brndlbc
I think one of the key elements to the webcast is the announcer. And you guys have one of the very best in Ray Crabtree. Totally agree. Knowing not much of anything, he brought me up to speed in the first two runs I watched. Great coverage.

PSmitty
Another question - the handler is instructing the dog to Lie Down - the dog is not doing it but still achieving the goal. Is this a display of the dog thinking on its own and knowing what is best or blowing off the handler? A lot of them will say "lie down", but as long as the dog stops movement, it's ok with the handler. Sometimes they may insist the dog is on his belly, but lots of time, a pause, or a standing stop will get the job done, so that's all right. I'm no expert, so hopefully someone else will weigh in. PSmitty
One more thing, then I'll shut up. The webcast is WONDERFUL! I'm not getting anything done. I was so impressed by the 11 year old (Ben?), who had his bad sheep run all the way back to the exhaust fence, and still got the course done in time. Good boy! ETA: I've seen a lot of nice runs, but missed the first 4 hours, darnit.

stockdogranch
Excellent job all the way around. And I agree, Jodi, Ray is the best there is! I also like the occasional view of the clock, and the handler and dogs' names...just nicely done. A

A Definitely- I am very impressed with the quality of the video, very easy to follow the action and enough changes in camera angles to keep you paying attention. Does anyone know if the Finals will be available for replay? I can watch a few dogs in the morning but will miss a huge chunk of it before I get back home. PennyT
I was loving the webcast until rotten Hughes Net cut down my speed for overuse. Now I'm back to following twitter, which is very good, but can't compare. Penny
jdarling
Jaime, I was thinking the same thing. I missed a few runs from this morning that I really wanted to see. And ... every time I walk away from the screen, you hear Ray say something like, "DID YOU SEE THAT? WHAT A GREAT SAVE!" ... and of course ... I was filling my glass or something! I imagine we'll be able to buy the DVDs.

sluj
And congrats Robin and Bill for making it to the finals! I have to admit, I wasn't able to make it up at 4:30 PDT to catch the early runs, so i'd really love it if replay were available.
