Allie Oop
I have a colleague who is moving from Utah back to Georgia. She has been pondering adopting a Border Collie for several years and is ready to start looking in earnest once she gets back to GA. I told her that I would ask for your expertise in helping her find a reputable Border Collie rescue in that general vicinity, so recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks. Great to "see" you! I know there is a Georgia BC rescue but I just can't think of it. MaryP has Starfish BC Rescue (starfishbcrescue.com) in Florida and Painted Ponies has Phoenix Rising BC Rescue in South Carolina. Where in Georgia is your friend moving? PSmitty
There is not really a lot in Georgia as far as BC rescues go, which is why us Florida folks try to help out in GA as often as possible. However, if your friend is willing to adopt from a shelter, there are almost always plenty of border collies needing rescue out of Georgia shelters (I should know, I've got two of them!). Lots of purebreds, too. Here are a couple of GA rescues, though: Ruffus Rescue is all breed, but usually has a BC or two. http://www.ruffusrescue.org/ Two very small BC rescues: North GA BCR: http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/GA327.html GA BC/Aussie Rescue: http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/GA454.html If your friend is anywhere close to TN, there are two great BC rescues in TN, always with nice dogs. JMack
Thanks, Paula! My dog came from the East Tennessee BC rescue (mentioned above). She's a great dog, and they're a great rescue.
