Hello,

remember ? :D

The little puppy with the beard ?

Lone is 7 month old now, friendly, happy, and... bearded

She had her first steps at the sheep - and she showed erything,

you want to see at this age. :D

Although nobody believes that she´s a REAL bordercollie -

recent rumors say that she´s a briard-mixture :D -

We are very very happy and pleased with her

:rolleyes:

The one and LONE-ly

Whatever she is, she is really cute. I do see some BC in her. Who wrote the DOG poem? I've seen it before and never knew the author.

She is a full border collie. See this post for an explanation.

I think Lone is gorgeous too! Keep sending us pix as she develops! I have saved several of her puppy pix to a 'Lone' album as I have a number of friends with working Beardies(not from Blue however).

cheers Lani

Thank you very much for your answers. :D

Christine, Lone is gorgeous! Do you have any photos of her littermates, maybe?

No sorry - not yet.

But i heard from Serge, that a sister of her, short coated ! also wears a beard.

I´m trying to find out more - they were all sold in the Netherlands.

@sheeplessdog : sorry - i just got the poem with "author unknown"

More Lone Photos here (with my other dogs Nelly - a labrador/BC crossbread who looks more like a BC then Lone does - and Lucy BC)

Hi Christine,

My friend Polly asked me to share photos of her beardie James with you. She has done well with him in open trials here in the US.

This is James at 7 months:

And this is him running in the nursery finals in Sturgis, SD, in 2005 (I think that's the correct date):

Personally, I just love this sort of bearded coat (vs. the longer, flowing coat of the show dogs).

J.

Gorgeous dog! :rolleyes:

Do you know any other dogs that are wire haired that come from Dutch breeders? (except Lone's sister)

I adore wire haired, and Lone is stunning! :D

Hello everbody ! :D

I found the solution for Lone´s extraordinary outlook !

It has nothing to do with genetics ! :rolleyes:

It´s simply her name !

Nomen est omen

L = Long hair

O = on

N = Nose

E = Extra-Terrestrial

And here are some new photos of my lovely young dog :
