flyer Posted September 5, 2009 Report Share Posted September 5, 2009 Colt has just started lifting his leg to urinate, but he seems to have terrible aim. He can pee all over his front legs. I mean all over. He is my first male dog, so I'm unsure as to whether this could be a sign of a problem or not. He is also licking his penis a fair bit. mbc1963 Posted September 5, 2009 Report Share Posted September 5, 2009 My boy doesn't pee on himself, though he does sometimes almost tip himself over, lifting one leg to mark as high on the tree as he can. He's sixish. And, on the flip side, he will stick his whole face right into the pee stream of other dogs, to get the freshest possible scent. He actually lifted his leg for the once on his first birthday and hasn't done it since. But his front paws have to be rinsed every night before he's allowed in bed, because they are usually yellow. It's kind of gross and I was hoping it would go away once, if, he ever started peeing like a "man". I guess he just has crappy aim, bother. His aim has gotten somewhat better...he only pees on his front legs some of the time now. *sigh* Anyway, yes, all of that sounds normal to me. I find he is often too busy looking at other things to take time to stop and pee. One of his white socks is longer than the rest and he is always hitting that leg.
