catfish
Dear Ms. Champion, I am a newbie to the world of trialling. The problem I need some guidance. My dog is a 5 y/o border collie. He trains fine for the instructor and me, but. when he is in a trial situation he freaks. His outwork is good but when it comes to the pressures of pen work, drive, etc. he almost always grips at the sheep. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you for your insight. Newbie in Dispair Hi How is this dog on the fetch? Can it do any other work without freaking besides an outrun? Again, without seeing the dog, most "freaking out" is usually a dog in over its head—some lack of confidence. A further description might allow me some greater insights.
