  1. Hey!!!! i just got my first border collie a month ago, his name is Triple. I’ve had many dogs, and currently have another 2 (10 year old Jack and 1.5 year old mutt). Ive always wanted a BC, but had to wait until the right time. Triple is the Easiest puppy I’ve ever had, and I’m accrediting that to his border collie brain. He is 3 months old, smart, sweet and oh so funny! We are going through the Great War chafe right now, so every day it’s a surprise as to what we are going to wake up to! Up? Down? Sideways? Who knows! I’m hoping to do agility and dock diving for fun with him, and maybe dabble in some hearding. We’ll see!
  2. Hi all- I'm Christine and I rescued my dog, Gabe around a month ago. The rescue called him an Australian Shepherd mix, but after seeing him in person and bringing him home, I'm pretty sure he's a Border Collie. I know it's hard to tell by appearance, but he certainly doesn't look like an Aussie. He was a little nervous when we first brought him home, and is still sometimes shy with new people, but getting a little more comfortable every day. He loves his toys and runs to put one in his mouth whenever he gets too excited. He's around 2 years old, and as far as we know, was adopted through this rescue at 8 weeks old to a family that had 6 kids. The kids were having a hard time keeping the gate closed, he kept escaping, so they returned him. I'm not sure if I believe that's the whole story, but I can't imagine he did too well in a house with 6 kids. Our last dog was much lazier and not at all toy-driven, so it's been really fun playing with Gabe and seeing his personality come out. I'm looking forward to doing some agility and obedience with him, and seeing what else is out there to get involved in as well. I'd greatly appreciate any tips/tricks for living with a BC in suburban/urban areas (we're near some nice hiking trails we go on daily, but still within Philadelphia city limits), and just getting to know some people who are as crazy about their dogs as I am. Christine and Gabe
  3. Happy to introduce you Nala, a beautiful girl that will join us in about three weeks. Quite impatient to pick her up but she needs to have all the mummy time she needs! Hope you guys like her
  4. Hello all! Long-time lurker here since well before we (my significant other and I) brought our first border collie home. We adopted Duke about a month ago now, and I thought it was time to introduce him to the forum (and sign up and all, too ). Duke is a brindle border colle (possibly mixed with something seeing as he was a rescue). He was picked up with his sister and a possible other relative in Tulsa, OK. The rescue group we worked with (All Border Collie Rescue (they're awesome)) picked all three of them up and brought them down here to Texas. After a few months, we started looking for a dog, went through the adoption process, and brought our little boy home in March. The best estimate for his age is nearly 2 years old. He is an absolute sweetheart and a smart cookie. We are very excited to start real training soon rather than simply continuing with the basic obedience he has mastered thus far. Instead of me talking, though, I'm sure you just want to see pictures: Cheers, Laura and Duke
