  1. my dog is 16 months old, and she gets excited and pee, and she is around people and other dogs a lot, she just love people so much. i tried a lot to stop this habit, but nothing is working either.
  2. Hello guys, Java is doing much better, the medication caused the loss of appetite. I hope all your dogs are doing great
  3. thanks everyone, I forgot to tell you something very important, she is on a medication for a week because she was limping a little bit, and this medication has some side effects, and one of them is nausea and loss of appetite. I don't know, i called my vet and he said it is the medication, I hope things turn out good.
  4. Hello everyone, I have a 15 months old female border collie, she used to eat her food in just seconds, but the last couple of days, she doesn't even care about it, she look at her food and doesn't eat it untill like 20 minutes later. today i gave her food 2 hours ago and she haven't touched it, can anyone give me an advice, i never had this kind of problem before, because she used to eat so fast. thank you Joe
  5. I am so sorry to hear about Nikita, I hope she feels better, good luck
  6. I have a 14 months old female border collie. I take her everyday to the woods and let her run off leash for about 45 minutes, she love it. my wife take her for a rollerblade at night for about 30 minutes, and that's more than enough for her. you have to be very careful with the hot weather, try to exercise them early in the morning or late at night, because they get very hot, and you have to know when to stop. I learned something about border collies, yes they need the exercise which i give my Java everyday, and you need to keep their mind stimulated, but i think the most important thing for a border collie is keeping them busy with you in the house, they love to be involved in everything. good luck
  7. thanks guys for relpying, I am really trying hard to find someone that I can trust, because you guys know how much exercise and attention this breed need. so I am really praying hard to find someone that I like and can trust. the last time we went on vacation we took her with us, but it was 8 hours drive, so it was hard for her. she is very smart, loving and funny, and i can never leave her with just anyone. I am hoping to find someone soon. have a great day.
  8. Hello everyone, I have a 1 year old border collie female, she is housetrained, crate trained, and very well behaved. I am looking for an occasional dog sitter when we need to go away, and I am willing to watch your dog when you have to go somewhere, I just need someone that understands this breed and their need. Please respond if you are interested, we can set up a play date for our dogs, and this way the 2 of us will have someone to rely on if you need someone to watch your dog. thank you so much Joe
  9. 6 hours is not bad at all, just make sure that you leave some safe toys inside, like kongs, something they can't destroy. my 9 months old bc love her crate, she goes in it on her own, but i only leave her in it for 4 hours and i know she sleeps while we are not home. she is a great dog. good luck Joe
  10. in my experience the best thing you can do, get a spray bottle from the dollar store and fill it up with water, and everytime she bite or does something you don't like, spray her, trust me they hate the spray bottles, she will stop biting in no time. try it, it works Joe
  11. Hello Everyone, I am just wondering what is the best thing to use as a bed for my border collie, Everything I bought for her sofar she destroyed. What do you guys use? any advice would be appreciated. Joe
  12. Hello Everyone, I have a 9 months old border collie, she wasn't the worst puller in the world, but she did pull us a lot especially with my wife. I was watching its me or the dog tonight, and I saw how good the gentle leader works, so I went to walmart and bought one, they are only 8 dollars by the way. Trust me guys, the gentle leader works really really good, my dog doesn't even try to pull anymore, and i can take her for walks with one finger, i promise it works, and i am so happy i got it. take care Joe
  13. I bought the furminator for my Bc, because she didn't like the slicker brush in the beginning. now she likes the slicker brush more than any other brush. my bc have a medium lenght rough coat, and i don't like using the furminator on her coat, because it doesn;t work good on a rough coat, it gets stuck, i think furminator would work better on a smooth coat. but i am happy she likes the slicker brush now, thank god.
  14. I am happy your puppy is doing better, i know it is so hard to go through this, because i went through it with my last BC. she had a very severe seizure when she was about 5 months old, and she couldn't walk anymore, and the vet said there is nothing they can do, so we had to put her down, we couldn't see her suffer more, especially when the vet said there is nothing they can do. it was very heart breaking. Best of luck with your puppy
  15. I like to know how every single bc owner spend their day with their BC. mine is only 5 months old, she is up at 7 every morning, take her to the bathroom, feed her, then we play ball in the yard for like 15 minutes. then i give her a break untill like 9 o'clock, then we go to the park play ball for like 15 minutes, then let her play and do what she want for another 15 minutes. sometime she take a nap before lunch. then after lunch i take her for a long walk, then i leave to go to work @ 1:30, and usually she is her crate sleeping and playing for 4 hours untill my wife get home at 5:30, she feeds her, take her to the bathroom, then she take her for a roller blade for like 20 minutes, then she hang out with my wife all night, she play with her ball sometime if she is hyper, and when i get home at 10:30 i take her for like 20 minutes walk, then she hang out with us, untill about 11:30 or 12 max, then we all go to sleep. so my dog gets about 2 hours of excercise a day between walks, chasing the soccer ball, and roller blading. I don't do with her more because she is still very young and i have to be careful. I like to hear about your days with your dog Joe
