  1. Hi, Julz I am a new border collie pup owner and haven't encountered this problem yet, but I have kept a good suggestion regarding this for future reference. Train Dymin to sit whenver she meets someone(you coming in the door from the store, strangers approaching her to pet her...). It should be simple. Go outside and come inside in a minute tell her to sit, repeat this plenty. DO this everytime you come home, or someone comes over to visit. Also get a friend to come to you on the street and yard, whatever, and get to sit. She will begin to associate meeting with sit and instead of jumping up on you she will sit. I reread this and I know this isn't the greatest explaination--in a hurry, can't rewrite it... Hope this helps! Carla and Fay
  2. Hi! Sorry about that! I think I must have checked out the pages 13 and 14 links and found no pictures of a dog--photos on my computer load slow--I check 15 and 16 and it had similar backgrounds, I thought someone was being an idiot... Sorry 'bout that! Carla and Fay
  3. What's up with this? I have checked those links before and they are links to pages that show ribbons of some sort--NO DOG Anyone reading this, don't waste your time checking out those links, it's a joke.
  4. Hi, Jennifer! You said your dog whines to wake you to take her outside but before you get to the door she goes? Have you tried sleeping with your clothes one? Maybe even sleep with you shoes on, if she whines like this consistantly than when you take her out immediately(you can if your dressed) and play w/ her and praise her she will soon find that if she whines and waits a second she gets to play with you outside. Taking the paper outside is a great idea! And if you are REALLY patient(might piss you off though ) take her out with her on a lead and wait her out--she has to relieve herself sometime, and give her extra special treats for doing this outside--she'll soon catch on. If she isn't trained to go on command start incorporating this now. When she goes on her paper inside say something like "better go now" or "get busy" something like that over and over again until she will relieve herself on command on her papers inside, then take her outside a little after a big drink and command her to relieve herself--lots of praise and an extra special treat. That will probably do the trick. Hope this helps! Carla and Fay
  5. Hi, I am new to this board and will soon have a Border Collie soon too! I have been having a hard time trying to track down a BC breeder who can breed red or tri-colored BC's in my area. I live in Prince George, B.C., Canada. If anyone can assist me in this endeavor with knowledge of any breeders of this *type* within Alberta or B.C.(British Columbia preferred of course) please contact me at: ivoryce@yahoo.com Thank you. P.S. I have my heart set on a female pup. ------------------ -Carla British Columbia, Canada. ivoryce@yahoo.com
