  1. Almost monthly in QLD (not sure about anywhere else) we have an inspection about fireants and workers come to our houses with this equipment to get rid of them. Bad description I know. Anyway, there seems to be alot of fire ants in our area and they have been coming in my room. Sometimes when Chance is asleep he will jump up with a jolt and cry really loud like something has bit him. But this only seems to happen to Chance. Anyways, yesterday I went outside and we were playing and I noticed two large lumps near Chance tail. Just above each back leg. The one on the left stuck out alot more and the fur seems to have faded. I sat down and tried to feel if they were hard as I've heard from my Dad hard lumps are to be a cause for concern. The first few times he cowered and tried to move. I tried to calm him down and when I finally got a chance to feel them I found they were both soft. As soon as my Dad came home I told him about it and he checked Chance out and thought the dogs had just been fighting. That wasn't what I thought. I walked back inside thinking he didn't even care at that point... Chance and Diesel had been lying together for the rest of the night. How could they have been fighting? Diesel would not have done that. Later that night I was talking with my sister about it and a conversation came up about ants getting into my room, mind you my room is actually a garage lol. Anyways, we knew about the fireants and instantly thought that was it and ran to tell Dad. He said that could be it and will do something about it tomorrow. I don't know but I've always heard fire ants are bad. Right now I'm hugging Chance. I feel so bad for him.
  2. I'm sorry for your loss. At least Obi will be without pain now. Be strong.
  3. I think everyone deserves a little appretiation on this board because too many a time on other boards people flame others or complain about whatever. On here, everyone tries to help one another. It's a nice and friendly place to come to. Everyone genuinly cares about one another and their dogs and wish them all the best. Giving advice to those who really need it and being so thoughful is what brings us back. In a way we are all friends on here. I am thankful that there are people on this board who are the nicest people you could ever interact with. I thank you all for being so open and welcome to newcomers as well. You need that kind of open arms.
  4. My dad had once saved a Rotweiller that was thrown out in a bag from a moving vehicle with other puppies inside too. We kept one of them that took a liking to my Dad and named it Feeny. I realled hated that name, lol.
  5. 3 weeks of rain. Wow! I wonder if we'll get the same. I hope so. It could definately help the drought. Chance seems to be doing fine. He's eating and drinking well so that's a good thing. He's just sleeping right now. I think he coughed up whatever was bugging him.
  6. We have had no rain at all here for quite a long time and now it's been raining, well pouring down for the last two days and the weather beureau think it will continue like this for maybe a few more days or so. Chance prefers to stay indoors because its too cold outside and he doesnt want to be out in the rain for too long. He seems a little sick. He wants to vomit now and again and he's just lying around not doing much. I'm just wondering, are Border Collies sensitive to the cold?
  7. I will be posting pictures up very soon. One thing I forgot to add was that Chance can't seem to decide what he wants to do with his ears, they are always different each day. Lol.
  8. Next week Chance will be four months and he is growing up to be very lean, especially in the legs which are long as anything. His paws are getting huge too. He loves to run around in the backyard and even in the house. He loves to play with not just us but Diesel also who sometimes seems to get jealous of him which is expected because we had her first but she's actually very loving towards him at times which is cute, better than when she wants to fight with him alot, lol. Chance can hold his own when they wrestle. Diesel is used to dogs submitting to her but Chance refuses to. He's got a lot of personality, a real goofball. He always seems to make us laugh. He seems very proud of himself now that he can jump on my bed, he couldn't do that before. He likes tug of war, playing soccer, rolling in the grass, food, catching and running after balls. He walks very well on the lead, but sometimes it seems like he wants to take us for a walk instead. Overall he's doing great. The only downside is that he chews alot but he'll grow out of that. But he's the most friendliest dog you'll meet. He especially loves sitting on your lap and cuddling up to you. He also seems fascinated by the television, lol. This was just an update to let you all know how he's doing.
  9. Sweet kitties! Love them, I'm sure they are a blast. Rune does seem very motherly, it's really nice to see.
  10. Can't wait till you get your puppy, I know you're gonna post heaps of pics! Take care, and have fun.

  11. Feel free to use any pics of Chance I have posted in the gallery.
  12. Thats such a sweet sight. He's so gentle with those ducklings. Its just too cute!
  13. Chance is only 9 weeks but every now and again he tries to lift his leg while doing his business but ends up tumbling over and losing balance. He doesn't try it all the time, but only a few times. Is that wierd as he's still so young?
