  1. Quinn did the same thing to his tail, chewed off the white spot, and I wish I could figure out why! Maybe the white tip on his tail was stalking him and had to be told off? I finally ended up drowning the tip of his tail in bitter apple and the white is finally starting to reappear.
  2. Thank you for the links, starting to read through them. So much to learn, , but definately seems like it will be worth it, if I can manage to get my brain around it.
  3. Now, I hate to look like a total idiot here, but I've always believed the only bad question is the unasked one, so I have to ask: Why all the comments about the Paddle and the rake? Clearly I'm more novice than my dog is, at least he has the instinct going for him, although I'm still hoping to learn.
  4. The rake was just laying in the pen, never got touched, I just liked his pose in the picture. And oh yes, definately hooked, it was something else to watch him on sheep. He even took a "down" command at the end, had to do a double take "is that really my dog?!"

  6. I was wondering if any of you who spend time working your dogs on various farms, have any tips or tricks to getting your dogs to respect the tires of a moving vehicle. My older dog tends to stay out of the way for the most part, but my new puppy (8 months of age) still tends to think wheeled vehicles need to be barked at and/or run in front of, which is clearly quite dangerous. Any advice would be appreciated. And if there is any advice out there to change a pups perception of a horse from "barkbarkbarkbark" target to a good time that he gets to go riding with, it would be wonderful as well. -Andrew
  7. I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to add a bit of information. When we had a smaller truck for horse trailer, we used one of these ( http://www.drawtite-hitches.com/WD/about_wd_hitches.htm ) to help re-distribute the weight, and allow the smallish truck to pull a bigger trailer than may have been normally intelligent with no issues. -Andrew
