  1. --> QUOTE(Jan B @ Mar 29 2008, 04:19 PM) 227224[/snapback] Her email addy is cherylmbailey@cox.net and, as you may have guessed, her name is Cheryl Bailey. She said that she would be happy to fill you in on all that she knows about PLE. Thank you so much.....I just emailed her and sent a picture of Robby so she can see how precious he is.....I really appreciate your kindness and Cheryl's willingness to share what she knows.

She is a wealth of info about the condition and has been taking her dog to Tufts for treatment. If you would like to contact her, I can send you her email addy.Jan That would be great if she wouldn't mind me emailing her.....thanks so much
  3. Has anyone ever heard of or dealt with Protein Losing Enteropathy? My Robby has been having ongoing problems for a few months now and after numerous visits, blood tests, medication and prescription foods, we have the above diagnosis. The vet said it could be the result of anything from a parasite to possible cancer. He thinks we are a long way from looking for cancer and we de-wormed over the weekend. I've had him on boiled hamburger, rice, carrots and a multi-vitamin since all this started and we've tried to re-introduce at least 6 different dog foods. The dog foods were all good quality or prescription and he won't eat it. He picks around and manages to get only the hamburger mixture. We had him on Rimadyl for hip dysplasia but the vet thought it may be contributing to his diarehea problems so he's on another pain pill now as well as an anti-diarreha med. I've tried Canidae and he hated even the smell. The vet wants him on a high protein to help replace what he's losing through his small intestine but both prescription foods he suggested resulted in Robby picking around and not even going near his bowl. Any suggestions? Otherwise, he's fine......he's alert, playing occasionally (he's almost nine) gets excited to go for rides, drinking, etc.......
