  1. ha, sorry did mean umbilical hernias.... and thanks guys... kind of an over protective dad thing going on here i think!
  2. all of the pups have abdominal hernia's apparently, and that goes through me - not because i am screamish, but because i keep worrying i wont notice if 'they go wrong' vet wasnt very clear on it, just that it can be quickly lethal if they go wrong...... any advice? cheers
  3. i now know why you guys all love collies, these puppies are crazily intelligent!
  4. More photos to bore you all! [/img] Seems to be working, and making it into a game running down to lawn seems to make them enjoy it
  5. They did recieve milk from the mother straight away (They were with us for the first 3days) and we made sure the mum was with them. She has never been vaccinated though. Does the fact that I am in the UK make much difference to the chances of dogs catching diseases? Our neighbours have collies, but they are vaccinated cats are frequent visitors but no dogs to my knowledge (at least for the last 2 years)
  6. I wrote the last post before the page had refreshed and 'J's post had come up. Cheers Guys - this is gonna be crzy, they are pee'ing every time they move :s
  7. you mean out as in outside? thi is ok without vaccines? (we have dogs either side of us) its actually the constant urination at teh moment, hopefully its because all is new to them. cheers Jason & Nads
  8. Hey guys, well its finally sorted, no more treks in the rain to feed and clean them!! The pups are at our home now (well two brothers have already gone to a new home) I have not had puppies this young before, have always have older rescues, so my knowledge of vaccinations needed etc is limited. I also dont want to be taken advantage of by vets (sounding like that farmer now we understand that looking after pups is expensive, would just appreciate a run down of the essential vaccinations and the sort of cost i should expect. Here are the pictures of the 3 remaining pups after their baths tehy are no longer orangy : Was also wondering when is it the right time to start house training, and how roughly to go about it? cheers for all the help guys
  9. THERE COMING TODAY. its so daft, am like a child at christmas, I could barely sleep last night!!
  10. cheers shelbsmum, but dont worry, i am quite thick skinned and didnt take any thing badly. Am sooo excited though, they are getting half my kitchen, and under the stairs, pretty convienient setup actually. Is there any way at all to start them off with toilet training etc? never really had young pups before, always have had older rescues in the past. also i keep hearing about there joints, and impacts etc - obviously it will be a while before i take her (gonna keep a girl) running, but was just curious. Cheers
  11. Hi guys, NOW THAT SPARKED A 'LIVELY' debate... i managed a mix fo the above, i did a bit of background research on the farmer, and found he had a brother, i spent a looong time trying to find trhe guy, and it paid off, (the brother is a bit younger and a really nice guy) he was pretty horrified about what was going on, and this morningi went up with him to teh farm (and after a blazing row between the brothers) - it was in welsh so dont actually know what was said, the farmer agreed to ?100 for 5 pups (one unfortunately has 'disappeared'- he thinks it wandered off and it was the runt so unfortunatly i fear it has died. Am collecting the pups on monday, and four now have homes lined up (2 of the people originally meant to take pups off me have adopted other rescues as it seemed unlikely we would get them) So will hopefully start a new Post with pictures etc on monday, along with asking advice for house training a collie pup Thanks loads to everyone! Jason, Nadia and Gypsy too!!!
  12. The pups look healthy-ish, although they are incredibly nervous and cowed, have wormed them again, the farmer is avoiding me, and wont take my calls, or answer his door to me, so am still trying to find out if i will be able have any of the pups
  13. hey guys, sorry for the lack of response, no news unfortunately,am going up 2moro, so will find out for definate if i am going to be able to re-home any of them! will let you know. cheers
  14. she might cry, lol. Thanks Shores dog, you actually made me smile, had a pretty rubbish day! will get advice from RSPCA, and failing that may try one of the 2 u suggested. Cheers Jason
  15. we have the RSPCA, but they do not have much legal power, unfortunately the animals have to be pretty much dead in the UK before negligence or cruelty can be proved.........i would just take them all but -he knows where i live, so would probably end up arrested.
