  1. x2 We use it at the ranch when the Llamas start to go in a spot they aren't supposed to. It completely eliminates the smell, even for their sensitive noses, and they will stop using the spot. It's great stuff.
  2. Congratulations! that is big news. Take lots of pictures for us
  3. I often do work for my parents' small business and, though I would love to get that sort of gas mileage, it can't hold nearly enough weight. I would need 3 of them to carry what one of our Chevy Express vans, or GMC Savana vans can haul.
  4. I think the chances of you ending up with another dog with such severe issues is unlikely. And you've proven that you will go the extra mile to work with a dog with problems. I disagree with SoloRiver, you are perfectly capable of giving a dog what it needs in your current situation. I hope your next dog is healthy physically and mentally. Best Regards, BM
  5. I only read a few chapters in the book but I think the book is better than the movie. I watched the whole movie but it wasn't something I would watch again, while I will definitely finish the book. I watched the movie with my girlfriend and my mom and both of them were bawling at the end. Almost made me cry seeing how much they were into the movie and upset at Marley's death. But I didn't because he had a great life and died a happy dog.
  6. Sorry to hear about Bandit being injured. I hope he recovers 100%.
  7. If you are around roads this isn't a good idea either. I've had a couple very close calls with my dogs chasing squirrels/rabbits/cats across the street. To teach 'em to chase is easy though. Use a GTFO sound ( like the sound you use to shoo a cat away "spssss", or something similar, when you see the animal) your dog will quickly get the idea.
  8. There's a time and place for everything. She obviously hasn't felt comfortable in the areas she's been with her dog. Even if it's the 'norm' in the area if the owner isn't comfortable with it, it probably isn't a good idea.
  9. Is there a nationwide all breed registry in the US besides the AKC? The best way to counter their ability to destroy breeds with their conformation is to create a registry that is comparable but with different standards and practices. We should be promoting such registries instead of fighting the AKC on a breed specific level.
  10. I am interested in them but it would require a very large price drop. Like drop $100 off and I'll take em.
  11. Good to hear from you AJ. I haven't been on much either and was wonder what you were up to.
  12. It was put on hold until later this month. But at the hearing there were no supporters and 5 members spoke against it.
  13. Very cool. I'll have to pick up a copy as well. It's been awhile since the BC was featured.
  14. Hang in there. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Jin.
  15. I have a working bred BC and a Barbie Collie. Lance, my Barbie Collie, is hopeless with livestock. We took him to a trainer for testing 3 times and there's no reason to pursue it further with him. He is an extremely intelligent dog though. Smarter than Mick who is purely working bred, so I don't know about the statements that breeding for conformation breeds the "smarts" out of the dog. Lance also will "eye" and stalk just like a working dog, but has no natural outrun or other sheepdog traits. Lance is excelling in his SAR training. And out of all the dogs I've had he is by far the best companion dog. When I got Lance I wasn't aware that there was a difference between normal working bred BCs and AKC BCs. I just thought I was buying a good looking BC. This forum taught me a lot and I would never support conformation breeding again. I wouldn't trade Lance for any dog on Earth though. Except maybe Ouzo. j/k
  16. I have only participated in NADAC events so far. And so far so good
  17. Good luck with the switch. I switched from Canidae as well and tried first Innova and then Eagle Pack Holistic. The new formula Canidae was causing itching in one of my dogs and bad gas in both. Lance actually started to smell like a fart all the time it was so bad. The Innova stopped the gas and itching and so did the Eagle Pack. But the dogs like the taste of the Eagle Pack a lot so I'm planning on sticking to it. They actually lick their empty bowls clean when I started feeding Eagle Pack.
  18. Lance's nicknames (just the most used. Random name calling is pretty common at my house): Sir Lance-a-pup, Lance Crazy Pants, Poochie, and my 4 yr. old nephew calls him Lancer. Mick's nicknames: Mickey, Mick Snickers, Snickers, Mick Snickety, Snicks, Snicker Doodle, and Slobber Face. Oh yeah and Snicker Doo (like "Snicker Doo, Where are you?)
  19. That is quite a change but it looks like she's put on some muscle to me.
  20. During the summer my dogs and I go to bed at 10pm and wake up at 6am seven days a week. Sometimes we'll stay up later but always get up at 6 unless I forget to set the alarm clock. During the cooler parts of the year I go to work at 7:30 so I usually stay up later. They always go to bed when I do and get up when I do to go to work with me.
  21. My dogs have their name, my name, and my cellphone number. And on the back they have the Vets number. My boss is also my vet and would know who's dog it is if they get lost.
  22. hmm that sucks. I just got sick yesterday. It's a cough and fatigue with sore muscles. Didn't help that I chopped, moved, and stacked so much wood today. Cant afford propane this year so it's been one fireplace to heat the house and I spent about 4 hours gathering wood in the cold today. I know im going to feel like crap tomorrow. And with Mick, the puppy, wanting to wake up early and me not being able to sleep very well...
  23. Lance sleeps on my bed (as he has since he was housebroken) but I dont know if I could handle two dogs on the bed. Probably not. So once Mickey is done being crate trained I hope he likes the floor During the day when Mickey is out and sleeping on the floor Lance joins him so they may both end up on the floor, which is fine by me.
  24. Very good poem. I feel the same way. My brother in law isn't a dog person and it gets on my nerves the way he acts around my dog when he's over. And the way they get upset at my dog, at my house, when he greets them at the door, because their 4 year old son is afraid of dogs for some reason. The same kid that used to hit Lance for no reason (not that there's any good reason to hit a dog).
