  1. As disappointing as this must be sounds as though it was for the best this time, it wasn't the right home for her.
  2. Jess is the same, when a ball is involved she forgets about everything and everyone, she concentrates solely on the ball.
  3. Jess (Dad's Border Collie) only sits on the mat or rug while inside. My 2 dogs (not B/C and we don't live with my Dad) have their own fabric couch layered with blankets it's the only way to keep it clean, tried the slip cover type and they kept falling down. I have my own leather couch which is covered by a blanket I block it off of a night so they can't get up there. They have plenty of other things to lay on.
  4. My Rotti was on it at one stage for a short time and he had no problems with it.
  5. My 2 dogs (not Border Collies) can't tolerate chicken, whether it's boiled or whatever. It really upsets their stomach. Yet they eat Chicken and Veg tuckertime, and one of them it's the only food she can tolerate and they both have grass/pollen allergies, but not food allergies according to the food trial (I think they do). They eat a lot of grass after eating chicken and their stomachs rumble and they are quite wiffy..
  6. It's a terrible feeling to be so helpless when it comes to a dog attack, but we've all been there unfortunately. In our case I was lucky I've got 2 small dogs and could hold them above my head. If Jess (Border Collie) had been with us I wouldn't have been able to lift her.
  7. Here in Australia we don't get it quite that cold but I use Revolution (heartworm & flea prevenative) all year round on all our dogs.
  8. If I didn't have the money to build a fence I wouldn't buy a dog.
  9. If you feel the dog is suffering I'd report them, to many people look the other way and that is why abuse towards animals goes on. I don't agree with chaining a dog all day. When we lived on the farm our Border Collie was rarely on a chain and she became a much loved family pet.
  10. We don't have a problem with Jess, she tends to ignore other dogs she just walks straight past them and doesn't even look at them. She's quite aloof.
  11. I thought (being new) that I might have done something wrong. It kept coming up Account suspended contact the administrator...
  12. It may be that she will be just a smaller dog. Our first Border Collie was a bit heavier (not fat) and shorter, and Jess (current) is taller and thinner..
  13. Our Jess is quite aloof when it comes to other dogs she totally ignores them. Maybe he's just be protective, I just don't know.
