  1. Both of these Tens sent shivers down my spine and tears to my eyes, I could almost hear my badger saying them, not that i need reminding, he has all he needs from me. As I was reading them, I proudly thought how happy my boy is, once he was confused and scared but not anymore. Every dog owner should read those "tens ".
  2. welcome to the boards, what a beauty Loot is, he looks so sorry for himself with his poor little swollen mouth, you will have to post more pics when he feels a bit better. Where abouts in England did you come from?
  3. Welcome, so sorry to hear about Jasper, he was gorgeous. Sassy looks like a handfull, I love the name by the way.
  4. Badger is very laid back, but will take the first opportunity to play with a toy, i can tell when he is bored, he will sit and whinge till i say, "oh go and get a toy then", i dont always say that though, and recently he has decided that if i dont play he gets my shoe or slipper, shakes it then dumps it on the coffee table and will sit stareing at it till i have to make a move I also get hair in my food and take it in my stride, i'm a BC owner afterall
  5. My old Rooney, ( the one before Badger) was a terrible counter surfer, if there was'nt anything to steal he would just lick the surface of the kitchen units. We put pepper all along the surface, he soon stopped, was'nt too keen on sneezing, we had to do it a couple of times till it really sunk home.
  6. we have lots of ticks in the forest where i walk Badger, they are deer ticks. He always comes home with a couple, i have to wait till they are at a stage where i can pull them out, yuk!! he thought i was being nasty to him when i first started doing it and had a really hurt face on him so now i pull it out and have to show it too him just so he knows what i have done, well really i think it just makes me feel better as it makes him jump, but i often wonder what point in life has a tick got
  7. I feel sad for you, I too like the others had to put my Bc to sleep, I also held him like you did and told him he was the best dog in the world, Conner will always be with you. I think it was conner who has led you to your new puppy, you will have to post when you have the pup, maybe then you will have a smile and laughter again.
  8. Jeeves looks a real cheeky little feller, full of fun, I missed all the puppy stuff with badger as he was a year old when i got him.
  9. she is very cute, you are in for lots of fun and lots of devotion. By the way what part of the world are you from.
  10. what a little beauty Eko is, you are set for some good times together, be prepared never to go to the bathroom alone again and you will find yourself fitter than ever, but the one thing you will notice about yourself is the way you have long conversations with eko and even ask him his opionion, then you will feel a true BC owner
  11. welcome aboard, lexi is lovly, she already has that typical BC stare , she will give you so many good times and certainly keep you fit
  12. Your description and photos of maggies last days with you are very touching, she was so speceal to you and always will be, you must have loved her so much. It reminded me of my last hours with my old Rooney 14 years ago, i laid him on cushions by the fire and gave him a small piece of chocolate to eat, it was all he could keep down, I just kept holding him and talking till the vet came and sent him on his way to peace, it never leaves you. Good luck in copeing.
  13. Badger is anything that you can throw freak, balls are his favorite, I have to just ignore him if he goes on and on, he sits there looking at the ball almost willing it to move he has learnt the word "enough" and knows I will not throw it anymore once that word is said, its all about you being in control really.
  14. Thanks so much for your opinions, its helped me to know more what to do with him. My BC before Badger lived till he was 17 but he always knew his limits and would take himself of for a long rest, but badger is the opposite. I think i will have to watch him more carefully and take him to rest somewhere, it was a bit upseting to see him struggle to his bed, but next morning there he was, stuffed toy in his mouth ready to play Daviid how amazing that your 16 year old still swims like that. Once again thanks all.
  15. I dont like this idea at all, there will be the odd idiot out there who will say, " oh i don't like this type of dog i will just try another one", hope fully it will be well moniterd but its not the point, a dog is not a commodity to make money out of. I understand from what i have read about it that the poor little dog will go back to a kennel when not ' on hire ', how confussing for the poor thing, yes i think i can safely say this sucks !!!
