Ya, we know how to party thats for sure! And the whole "screeching in" thing is a laugh! Screech isnt a very plesent thing to drink though if you ask me.. yuck.. I like the kiss the cod thing.. hehee. and as for the "deadliest catch" thing, NFLD used to be a 99.9% fishing island, our fishery has since run into the ground, but people still make their living off fishing still. I still need to get our box working 100%... Anyone know what a STEEL BUSHING is? I need that one last piece for my box but I dont know what it is...

I dont really know what to use as nautical names.. any ideas?? NFLD is also a very irish island, so if you know of any cletic names to that would be cool... I have absoutley NO creativity.. lol

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has any advice on a name for our Flyball team... We are part of the Newfoundland Athletic Dog Association aka- NADA and im just stuck on a team name.. I have a cupple in mind but im not sure they are NADA your business NADA's On The Fly NADA's Knockout Barkers Xtreme Slammers Anyone else have any ideas?? Any help at all would be great. Here are some of our flyball pics I took tonight, none of Sasha though because I couldnt get anyone to take pics for me. But Here ya go. Theres 2 black labs, 1 GSD, and 1 BC/Kelpie mix. Plus Sasha.

hehehehe I did that today in class. I got one *When your at the dog park and people see your dog lying flat on the ground and they think that shes tired, and you have to inform them to watch her and then 20 seconds later shes running circles aorund the other dogs

Well Sasah would rather chase a frisbee while its rolling on the grownd insted of actually chasing it and catching it. So Frisbee was out. So we started Flyball and Agility at the same time. She liked agility but I found her BC drive kicked in more with Flyball, Because she LOVES balls, so this was better for her. She loves it. Her daddy is currently building her a flyball box so soon enough we will do some work out in our backyard. Just give him a try at everything and see which one he seems to enjoy and which ones you can handle. the only downfall to flyball is doing recalls at practice.. It gets a bit tyring after a while.. hehe But remember, if hesonly 3 months, dont get him jumping to high already. maybe jumps that are about 1 to 4 inches. You cant let him jump big heights untill his growth plates have closed. Good luck and have fun!!! Its so much fun to get out and play a sport with your dog.

Thanks Dana/ What my boyfriend is doing, is drilling 2 holes at the end of the bottom of the box, putting a washer in there and using huge stakes to hold it in place. We practice outside in the spring, summer and fall. So it works out good The box we use now our team captin got from TNTLeatherworx(spelling?) and with the 2 labs 2 pepole have to stand on the box so it doesnt move. So thats why Id rather have a heavy box. It doesnt matter with my dog because shes out height dog and weight a whole 20 pounds.

yea, Heavy is what I want. We have 2 huge labs on our team and their STRONG. and the way my BF is going to make it hes making it so if were outside it can be ancored down in case our normal box loader isnt around.

has anyone here built their own flyball box or are in the process?? Im in the process of building one now. Here is what it looks like so far. Its far from done, and my boyfriend is a grease monkey, not a carpenter.. But hes not doing a bad job for a first time carpentry project.

that box isnt very good. If you want to build your own go to http://www.flyballequip.com/plans.htm that box Jodi posted will throw the swimmers turn RIGHT out the window. Id stay CLEAR of that one if I were you.

the box is a little tricky, My boyfriend is gonig to make me one and the only thing were having real trubble with is the internal stuff that shoots the balls out. :s
