  1. I use Trifexis (Heartworm & Fleas) with my BC and Aussie with no problems (I also use Frontline for the ticks). I order it from Drs. Foster and Smith.
  2. I just wanted to share this story that shows an example of how smart Border Collies are. My brother-in-law came home yesterday. He was bringing in presents and Gyp (the BC) was following him. He set the last of the presents down and showed one to Gyp saying that that one was for him. My b-i-law set it back down among the other gifts and went into the kitchen. Gyp came out a few moments later with a ball in his mouth. My b-i-law said that someone must have got him the same ball that he did. Well, he got up and went over to the presents. Gyp had opened his! My husband called me from the farm to tell me about it. We were all laughing, Gyp is so smart! I just wanted to share this cute story!
  3. We don't have a problem with our dairy cows and our BC. In fact, the cows tend to ignore the dog unless we tell him to nip/easy bite the cow who's being stubborn. We actually started him on the milkers and he easily learned the routine and is quite the help! He is a bit more aggressive with the young stock and we usually have to call him back b/c he gets them too nerved up. But as far as milk production, having a BC around them hasn't seemed to decrease it. Hope this helps!
