  1. Recovery SA (small animal) is a wonderful suppliment for Arthritis. I have used the equine version for my horse, with great results. I have also used the SA on my cat for increased healing after surgery. Here is a link. The people there are also very helpful. So a call to them will prove to be very informative. Recovery
  2. Loki's gas problem was found to be a bacterial infection. Although it may just be a case of adapting to the food, you want to consider other possibilities if it continues. His gas has cleared up completely after a food change, and antibiotics.
  3. My dog is being treated with Metronidazole. The vet did not sell me the food, I bought it at the local petstore. He felt that the previous food (Solid Gold) may have irritated his digestive system which led to the overgrowth of the Campylobacteriosis
  4. Loki was diagnosed with this type of bacterial infection today when he went in to get his booster shots. We mentioned that his stools had been very soft lately. The fecal came back positive for this. The vet said that his dog food was most likely irritating his intestinal tract. We currently feed Solid Gold Wolf Cub. The vet recommended we put him on Science Diet Adult food. Has anyone had any experience with this bacteria? He was perscribed Metronidazole and we switched him to the science diet tonight as well as gave him his first dose of Metronidazole. I must admit, tonight he had firm stools for the first time in a long time. He was also not gassy like he has been.
  5. Could someone explain this method to me? It sounds like a great technique.
  6. Here is another company that sells frontline. www.smartpakequine.com
  7. Hey you know, I think Revolution treats mange. You may want to look into it. Here is a link. www.revolution4dogs.com
  8. All of you raw feeders, could you tell me what made you decide to switch to raw? Can you feed some raw & some kibble? I am considering the switch to raw, but our vet is not very pro -raw. What health benefits did you notice from switching to raw? Any input/tips you could give me would be great. Our vet mentioned the risk of salimonella from raw. What have your experiences been? Do any of you have a vet who encourages raw?
  9. Try this also. www.valleyvet.com
  10. My vet recommended a large breed formula because he is mixed with husky, and it appears he is going to be a big boy. I was using Nutro large breed puppy but it gave him severe diarrhea. We have been using Solid Gold wolf cub for two weeks now. He is doing very well. His fluffy coat is getting more fluffy, and has taken on a sheen. His stools are normal also which is nice. He LOVES the flavor and devours the stuff. He was actually refusing to eat the nutro after a while.
  11. I'll tell you, I am glad I worked with Loki on the "Come" command immediately when we got him. He got out of the yard just the other day. I found him next door exploring the neighbor's yard. He came without hesitation when I called him.
  12. I have begun clicker training with Loki our 5 1/2 month old rescue BC/Husky. He is a smart little fellow. He knows sit, down, stay (well kind of), and is learning heel on the lead. Much nicer than a choke chain or any of the other methods I have seen people use on other dogs. The clicker works well for teaching almsost everything really. We also taught him to potty outside on command using the clicker. He is VERY food motivated and we just use regular kibble as his treat. Any other clicker people out there?
  13. I just put Loki on the Solid Gold Wolf cub food. Any experience with this particular food?
