  1. Has anyone else ever had a BC with biting issues? I am beside myself with grief. She is only 3 years old...is otherwise well behaved. She had an incident last June with a small child who required stitches on his wrist. She has had other occurrences at home, but nothing as serious, until 2 weeks ago. She attacked my arm (bit several times) and I had to go to the emergency room. Obviously there is pattern, and our best option is to put her down, before she causes serious injury to someone. The only dog I've ever had to put down was an old dog in poor health. I don't know how I can deal with putting down a dog so young, vibrant, energetic and healthy. I haven't seen where BC's are a breed known for biting (nipping, herding a different story). I know every breed can have them, but just would like to hear from anyone who has had this problem with a BC or other breed, or know of someone who has. It might make me feel a little better. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
  2. One thing I wanted to add regarding the liability issue. If your homeowner's insurance company finds out about the dog bite, they will cancel your policy if you keep the dog. Sad but true, but they don't want to be financially responsible should your dog bite again. If the boy does have medical bills, pay them out of your own pocket if possible.
