  1. [ I figure letting the finder know there's a reward for the dog is more important than letting them know the dog's name (or perhaps folks will just think the dog's name is Reward!) J. I have my full name, address, phone number and REWARD on collar. No dog's name. I take my dogs to work and a child read her collar one day and started calling Bet by my name Carolyn. I thought it was cute. I guess this kid thought this dog had a first and last name! Carolyn
  2. One of my dogs got bad runs at a sheepdog trial last year, then the other 3 at home followed , as well as my friend's 4 border collies who come to my ranch to work. I had mine tested-nothing came up on culture. I took her off Evo thinking maybe it was the food. It wasn't. Ialso took her off salmon oil and her joint supplements, which she is back on after using the Tylan successfully. Went the fenbendazole route, not much success. A vet suggested Tylan powder, which cleared it up in a few days. I kept her on it for approximately one month, and keep a jar aorund just in case. She is also getting a small amount of psyllium once daily. I have since started feeding her Orijen ( like EVO in type) and all is good. The Tylan powder was the turning point. It is non-prescription ( sold in feed stores, rather pricy but it does not take but a tsp/day) so a jar lasts one dog quite a while. Good luck.
  3. Geez that is quite a long list of bad happenings in a short time! Hope you, dogs, horse , sheep that made it through recover soon hey you're a horse person-try some dmso on your facial nerve paralysis. Might help. Carolyn
  4. He's a cute one. Looks happily curious about things. Carolyn
  5. Would your pup fly into Ca and if so what airport? Carolyn PS I would love to see photos. I think kelpies are so pretty and athletic looking. In fact my smooth coat tri girl reminds me of one ( when she's not reminding me of a whippet!). There's photos posted of her from the Sonoma Sheepdog Trial a few weeks ago that are so nice. I already bought and recd them. So Please post a photo of your's ! Carolyn
  6. So what are you getting and from where are you getting him/her? Do you have any photos yet, (assuming he/she is already born). Carolyn
  7. I only know of it's use in horses. It has been used for at least 5 years I would guess, but not sure on that. Both the horses I know of had tendon problems and the stem cell helped both of them, according to their owners. The source was different on both hores, but on both it was harvested from the horse it was used on. Carolyn
  8. I do not know the poster, but if the trialing was done in the UK, Ireland or USA as the poster wrote , the only herding championships to be won are the Nat'l Championship ( Nursery or Open) in the USA and the Nat'l Ch from each of the UK nations and Ireland, or the Internat'l Supreme in the UK. Other than those trials, there are a few big trials here, such as Soldier Hollow and others that refer to the winner as the Champion of that trial as the Open Champion. So maybe the poster won one of those trials? Carolyn
  9. Great reporting for those of us not there! Where is this trial located? Carolyn
  10. [ How does anyone let alone a child act so awful? Because he can get away with it. Carolyn
  11. I got a thin kangaroo braided leash ( for going to the post) and a lanyard from this person. Steve Guitron at www.customrawhide.com. I have bought rawhide bosals and hangers ( horse tack) in the past and he is well known on the West Coast for his braiding. They made the length I asked for so will accomodate the customer. It was the same price I paid from others for the lanyards. Carolyn
  12. Bill, So glad to hear you are about to be released from the hospital. I so enjoy your posts and all the great info you share on sheep. Carolyn
  13. Diane, I received my 2006 Nat'l Finals hat from you today. So thank you so much for letting it go . I will save it for "good" to try and keep it in good shape. Carolyn
  14. I couldn't even watch the dog, because the shoes had my attentioin. For all of you Seinfeld fans, they reminded me of the shoes that Kramer wore in one episode that made people think he was mentally challenged. Like some shoes a cartoon character would wear. (If they are some sort of special need shoes for an ortho problem, I apologize), but man!! Those were some strange looking sh Well Jimmy sure liked them. However, they didnt help George jump any higher...... Carolyn
  15. I think that pretty much sums it up for me as well. Carolyn
  16. Anna, You bet. I have always tried to breed up in my horses and would try and do no less for my dog. Carolyn
  17. Now see, this is what makes me uneasy and why I said these things get personal. It seems clear that you two may have history, maybe not a comfortable one. I suspect you are both very nice people, but this illustrates to me how quickly these "non-personal, general " threads change and turn ugly. But hey it takes the heat off that poor AKC bred Harley !
