Well, I need to find a new vet. He's not returning calls to me (he did the same to my mom when she had questions about her cats meds). .I need tocall my old vet in Austin and see what flea meds I got there.

Well, seems Bravecto is popular here. Got the single dose 3 month pill. Got home and looked it up, not sure about this pill. Waiting on a call back from the vet.

It's been a long while since I've been on here. I've moved and Comet has fleas fo the first time. What would be the best meds to keep him flea free? I feel so bad for him right now. I did give him a Dawn bath, that helped for like one day. I know I need to do something in the house. But taking him out is another story. Stray cats, raccoons, and all keeps the flea population going outside.

I was wondering what everyone here feeds their border collie pup.

He seems to know when I dont have a treat in my hand and will not doing anything. I think there might be a few things I need to put more effort into for his training right now. IE: sitting on the couch, he sometimes tries to jump up on me and wants to take a nip at my face or ears, which he gets a very stern "NO" for. It seems alot in these past few days (other then when he's training w/food) is a "no". I know alot of it is him tring to see what he can get away with. I'll def. look up that book and check it out.

Well, I did some down and sit training today. It works pretty good, but once Coment notices that i'm not giving him a treat but praise and petting as a reward, he wants no part of it. Is it better to train say, after the dog has a meal?

Well, i'm not using a clicker. What normally happens is, say i'm walking to the area i'm going to do the training, no matter what, he will sit, normally before I say anything. He sit's whenever I stop walking. But I will def. try teaching him down since he's already sitting and work back to a sit from there over a little time. I was tring to get in a few commands before I goto obedience class. Does anyone here know of a place I can find info on obedience classes here in Austin? The place I wanted to go has class on thursdays and my new job had me working that day till 8pm, which is to late for that school. I know Petsmart or Petsco has training, but I'm really unsure about that.

I'm starting to train my BC pup. Tring to start with "sit", but he's quit on the sit himself, so most times before i can even finish giving the command, he's already sitting. Would the best way around this be putting my hand underhim and not allowing him to sit untill i give the command?
