  1. Well Caffine with a BC could do like caffine with hyper children ~~~ it calms them down.
  2. My dogs will do it too. I figure it has to do with how a dog raises its young. They clean them. I find it digusting but the behavior does stop once the human gets the system down pat and goes in the big potty. In meantime, you just have to move faster or shut the door or the lid.
  3. Humm. My old gray cells recall 2 maltese hellions who snuck more than one strawberry daiquari drink. I had to be careful putting my drink down. I didn't even need CSI to tell me who got in my drink ~ red on what should have been a white snout gave them away everytime.
  4. Humm so your house needs washable markers too. Only mine is necessary due to a 3 yr old ART ~ist wannabe. LOL my daughter likes my walls.
  5. ((((HUGS)))) To love sometimes means being able to let go. You have prepared him, Now it is his turn to fly. mskingpin passes Kitch some tissues cause I know you are crying. I've done it to. Just think of all the positives for Mick. ((((hugs))))
  6. Abbydoodle try a loud clap of your hands, if that doesn't get her attention, roll a newspaper and slap your thigh ( or make it make racket) or take a fly swatter and swoosh it. Another one that mite get her attention is a soda can with a few pennies in it and shake it when she is misbehaving. The point of any of the above is just to get her attention. Hope one of those gets her attention on you. If it gets her attention, slip that No in with it. For Sam he know Clap when outside means time to go in.
  7. Send the chameleon over here. I got skitters, flies etc it will get nice a fat over here and I will be happy. I'm still working on dh about a bat house since he refuses to give on chickens or ducks.

  9. Here is the only one I've heard about close to us so far. http://www.wyhumane.org/hope%20page.htm Does neutering and looks like shots too. They may know of another organization that helps with the other stuff.
  10. LOL Thanks ya'll made me feel good. Sam is still shedding too. Anyone got a spinning wheel? I think we all could send enough doggie hair to make plenty of blankets for the winter. It is so bad around here I'm left scratching my head wondering why they are not bald. My vaccum cleaner stays full of hair sometimes to the point it clogs. First night of camping we had a bad storm so we put the dogs in with us for just that night. We were constantly for the next 3 days removing dog hairs from food etc. The only thing I can think to do is shave them. But that would expose them to sunburn, skitters, flies and embarassment. I've seen a golden shaved not a pretty site but fortunately he wasn't shaved to the skin but still strange looking. Course with is heat wave, I'm tempted. ~ My A/C is on the fritz.
  11. Around here Molly , the cat, handled that problem. She just turns around and swats anytime that nose of a pup gets too close. Course, Molly is very BC savy when attempts are made to herd her she stops or slows down thn turns and attacks with a good swat. She misses Sam but it only took one real pop to insure he didn't want that again. Later it became a game of chase and it is hard to figure where one ends and the other begins. Mo is now Sam 's play kitty. But even Mo will tell Sam off. My previous cat Nosey trained a puppy. Jake was a huge lab/collie mix ( at 4 months the vet said just saddle him up). Nosey was problably 5 or so at the time we got Jake. She let him rule the house as a pup till he got to be a certain age and then she started training. He was just about to learn to jump on the couch for the first time. Nosey popped him so hard without her claws poor Jake's head did a complete circle. After that when he decided to chase or follow her,all she did was turn around and you would see a puppy put on brakes and start back peddling.Abby could just be waiting for her perfect moment. In the meantime, the eht or a clap of hands may help. You don't want pup to get into the habit or harass the kitty to much. I do have a question thou why a babygate with a hole, won't Abby jump the babygate? Molly used to jump them and annoying puppy or child was left on the other side.
  12. pictures of Mo. The boy is looking good now. All balding ringworm spots are now covered with hair. Other than the bad eye being off color you would not know the boy had a bad/blind eye. The way he runs around here, I can't even tell he is only seeing out of one. Mo does have one querk. Don't wear jewerly around him, he attempts to eat it.
  13. Poppy used to call squirrels "Tree Rats". His labs got the squirrels, and posseums. But they were obsessed just cleaning the yard of unwanted guests. Libby killed a posseum just last summer. It was getting into her food and that was a NO NO. Libby whines to get baby or other small animals to come to her( kittens, puppies, and rabbits).
  14. Ahhha poor baby. Sounds like she is doing what she did in the shelter for 3 yrs. Run to the back and run to the front inside a closed in area. She'll get into the hang of things.
  15. Humm, mite have to put Sam up against her on Mellowness.
  16. Comfiest spot she can find. Glad she is already enjoying herself.
  17. I have a feeling that is exactly what happened. I don't think it was intentional. Libby is an old girl and can be ornery and set in her ways. I think I will just do her at home as normal from now on. I had her done cause they have a hydro thingy that reduces shedding. Currently the old girl is taking her afternoon nap.
  18. Update today she is walking and acting fine. I'm left scratching my head here. Can grooming ( bath, brushing, anal gland cleaning, nail grinding and drying ) cause a sore tail end? Ahha well. Whatever, she is due for a checkup anyway. Calling vet to set up appointment plus tell him what she was doing? Update. Well it is possible and if they held her tail to help with the grooming then highly possible. They said to watch her. But figure she is sore from the pulling etc. Also Libby is now running and wagging the tail chasing after the kids.
  19. Libby is an 11 yr old golden reteiver/white lab mix, and weighs in around 75 lbs. She doesn't want you to touch her hind flanks. If you do she yelps. She is holding her back end up just like normal~no slumping or dragging noted (yet). She just went and was groomed today. After I picked her up they asked if she had hip problems. She never has and was fine when I lifted her into the van to get there and seemed fine when we went to leave. Our vet isn't in the office. What is good to give her to help with pain? or should I? She doesn't wimper when laying down and left alone. Dh is gone all day tomorrow on depositions. So taking her tomorrow will be a challenge and a half ( she is very protective if kids present ~ as in last time muzzle at vet's office). Dh mite be able to help get her there Friday. He could definetly help Sat. The vets' bank account is gonna love us this month between Mo(125 + next shots), Molly(80) and Libby(?). Part of me wants to run up to the store and get her a bottle of baby aspirin but I don't know if that would do her any good. Worked for a maltese with pms but that was eons ago and under vets orders.
