  1. Well, I am going to check that out also! Thanks again. Somewhere along this road, there will be a silver ending. (I hope) rhasche
  2. I am going to call a different vet tomorrow. I must be dumb? but what is an I/D diet? My girl was just like yours, energetic, but then she started having these stools, and lost an awful lot of weight. She was 37#'s and now she is 27#'s as of today. At night, I can hear her stomach growling up a storm, which never happened before. I feel if I go to the same vet, he will just give me some more different pills, and they won't work. I am keeping my fingers crossed! thank-you everyone for your concern, I knew I could count on you guys for some guidence! I will keep you all posted!
  3. I am writting all these things down, so on Monday, I am going to a different vet, after all, my dog is only four years old and was a picture of health until two months ago. I even went all natural, but that did not work either. so you could say I have exausted myself with remedies for her. thank you all for your advise. rhasche
  4. I have not been on the boaed for a very long time. but was wondering if some of you good people could help me in regard to my b.c. For about two months now she has been having cow pie like stools. She has lost weight, was at 34#'s and now is 27#'s. A month ago I had her checked by my vet, he put her on Tuzyme, Viokase, Prednisone, and Rerlan. Not all at once, but when one did not work he would order a different one. NOthing is helping. He took a stool sample, and did blood work, and tells me that nothing shows, except that her cholosterol is low. She was acting sick for a while, but now she is active as usual. I have been doing a lot of reading about pancreas diseases and to me it seems as though she measures up to the symptoms of it. But does anyone know what kind of tests can be done to find this out? I called the vet research center but they won't give any information to me unless it is through the vet I am going to. And he tells me that going there is not necessary. The results of pancrease diseases is scary and I want to do the right thing. I don't want to lose my little girl. If there is anyone out there who could give me some guidence as to what to do I would appreciate it very much. thank-you! rhasche
  5. To cute! Looks like he was pointing out where all the weeds were! My dog will not go on any chairs, sometimes I wish she would, so I could take some pictures of her sitting and having tea with me!
  6. I have read through all of the threads, and did not find any dis-likes for the spitz. that is one dog I do not think I could handle. Maybe it is because of a bad experience with one some years ago. Lap dogs are not for me either. Or the slurpy ones, the ones that drool all over you.
  7. I was just wondering, does citre mshine have citrus acid in it? I once was told not to use anything like that for bath or hair, cuz it has a drying effect to the skin and hair. does it work differently for dogs?
  8. You do not state what you need one for. If you would explain, I'm sure someone here could give you guidence.
  9. Me again! I went to alaska last january. It was an experience I will never forget!!!!! Each morning I would look at the temp. and it was always 42 below, where I was, I would wait till it "warmed" up before going for my walk with the dogs. 35 below. And the nights were beyond words, with the lights dancing. I would go again in a heart beat in winter. I better stop talking about alaska now, cuz, I could run out of room. Anyone out there who wants to go should by all means. I have never been on a cruise to alaska, I just did everything on my own and found it to be more relaxing and true to the real thing.
  10. Hi, I wish your son good luck and good health! make sure he has some of alaska's sour dough pancakes too! I go to visit relatives every year, and absolutely love the last frontier!
  11. WOW! Everything I read here is so much at home! I tell people how chena can read my mind, and they look at me as if I should be put away! Different shoes, different clothes, or even the way I walk around the house, she knows just what I am up to. One time I thought I would change the place where I would put on my walking shoes, I did closed the door, waited for about an hour, and went in to wear them, when I opened the door, there she was, sitting in front of it with her leash. I never mentioned the word or anything, can she read my mind, I ask you? of course she can! I could go on and on about other things, but I won't, just ewanted to share this one, this breed is FANTASTIC! and I love them!
  12. Hey! That is a great suggestion. When she was a puppy, I used to massage her whole body, just so she would get used to people touchiung her, and not hurting her, cuz, she was abused, and that worked wonders. so I will have to remember to do that more often with her ears. I suppose the dog would enjoy me rubbing her ears inside, you figure, she can't get way down with her paws, and after all, what else are we here for?? but to scratch where it itches! tee-hee, thanks!
  13. Well, all is well, or should I say fairly well. chena had a wax build-up of wax. the vet cleaned the ears out,(what a circus) and now I have to do the same in three days. but at least I am relieved that there was not an infection. She is back to her own tricky self! HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the mothers out there! Chena's mom
  14. I have decided to take Chena in for a check-up tomorrow. I called my vet, and seeing she needs to up-date her shots anyway, then he will check her ears. I know I will feel better having her checked. Although, she is not seem to be hurting today. so we will find out. Thanks to the two of you who cared.
  15. for the past week, chena has been rubbing her one ear and scratching it quite a bit. she also shakes her head, which she never did before. I looked in her ear with a light, and tried to clean it out as best I could, but she hated it. I quit because I was afraid I would injure her. she is terrible when it comes to exams, and I can imagine what it would be like to have a vet check her. It taked three people and a muzzle to even clip her nails, let alone check the ears. but I will take her in if there is nothing I can find here. There is no odor from her ear, and that is what has me puzzled. could someone please give me some advise as what to do? Should I take her in for a check up? Thanks for any input.
