  1. Sam Your new place looks fantastic for working sheep or Robin can doctor a picture better than anyone. I will definitely be at your trial next year....come a month early and stay a month after. (Lyle may not be able to stay that long because she will miss Matt but I will leave Jim a case of hot dogs and freeze a bunch of buns so they will stay fresh as any good wife should) By the way, I put the high tensil fence in about 4 years ago. It has withstood the Michigan ice and snow, a bizillion (more than a million) deer have not been able to down it and although a couple of sheep have not fared well when hitting it a a dead run, the fence still stands tall and unscathed. I can even turn the dogs out in the field and they cannot escape. My neighbors love it too. (My sheep don't visit them anymore and leave "tracks" on their sidewalks.)
  2. Sam, I am so happy for you. By the way, I paint much better than I run dogs. Your climate is also much warmer. Will paint for margaritas! Cannot wait to see your new fields.....and home.
  3. Merry Christmas to all. Happy Holiday herding and be careful not to freeze when you go outside! It'll be all right, Sam. For sale cheap: Dorper ewe lamb who gets stuck in the round bale feeder EVERY day. Will sell for a bottle of Christmas cheer.
  4. Hey Sam, Did ya ever hear the saying, "Put your money where your mouth is?" We are getting quite the gathering under this tent. But there is something wrong, I am sitting in my own chair!!!!!!! Kristen, The middle of the state is raining and rotten. However, we can really use the rain, pasture is getting scarce and hay is expensive.
  5. Denise's picture was sooooo good that they even named the calendar in her honor Deluxe "Wall" Calendar. Ooooooh that is so bad. Congrats again.
  6. I think that any and all of the ideas for Sam's trial are great because they give me a chance to win! How do winner's act? Oops, I forgot that A. and I are the eukre champions of the universe. In fact, I am soooooo good that I single handedly can take on Sam and Robin.....which I may have to do at Sam's unless I can come up with a satifactory replacement for A. Anyone interested, please send me your credentials. Marianna, tell us about Kate. Are you coming to Sam's? You could be a euchre prospect.
  7. I have an old arthritic dog that I have had on consequin for sometime. Because it is much more expensive than the "store bought" glucosomine chondrotin, I tried the "store bought" generic and Tux became noticeably worse. Went back to cosequin and he again improved. My vet told me the same as your vet, it is the only joint medication that has had extensive testing. (Glucosamine chondrondtin is not in spell check and I am sure that I annihilated the spelling)
  8. It seems that you are trying to divide the regions fairly by population (people) but maybe it should be dog population. If one region has 80% of the dogs, they would not be fairly represented. Penny's suggestion about somehow utilizing the number of trials per region sounds like it is a format that should be researched.
  9. Morning A.....this is my morning I am sending you money with 2 stamps today. Pup is booked on flight.
  10. Sam, Are you home already or are you still slumming it in the rustic motor home? Hey Charlie, My curiousity is piqued. What would you have predicted? Stalker shedding clinic group: Lets bet what we think that Charlie's predictions were. Charlie can write them down before we bet and send them to a trustworthy person so that we can't cheat. (Like any of us would ever consider cheating) Good luck Charlie in finding a trustworthy person that we all know that cannot be bought....cheaply!
  11. Margaret, You MUST give me the pattern for the coasters!!!
  12. At the last Oklahoma National Finals Angie Coker had champion and reserve (1st and 2nd) (At the time of her win, her last name was Pickle) I answered even though I am not Eileen.
  13. Margaret, Mike Neary and Tom Lacy judged the nursery and also judged the semi finals in open, if I remember correctly. (One nice good thing about old age is that you can blame everything on it including asking "dopey" questions.) By the way, that was not a "dopey question." Charles Arch and Glen Jones were the "imported" judges. Don't confuse Glen Jones with Glynn Jones ( I have probably massacred the spelling but that is what happens when you are old and senile) Gotta go take my nap before it is time to start arts and crafts.
  14. Laura, When you cry in your beer, I find that it helps to have another beer and it will dry your tears. Besides, beer is best when not watered down. If it is any consolation, you are not the only handler who has ever dropped the ball and you won't be the last. You are in good company. Running in the finals would be very intimidating. Earning the points to run in the finals is an accomplishment. God, I sound like Pollyanna. Is anyone on the boards old enough to remember Pollyanna?
  15. Hey Charlie.... If you call Kathy with Jake blistering with 168 what do you call Scott and Pleat with 181?
  16. Well it official and I feel so sorry for Cindy. She has to find yet another place to put yet another trophy, plaque, ribbon, etc. What a chore. Seriously, the creme does always seem to rise to the top.....again and again and again. How is Quinn bred? IMHO, there weren't any surprises in the top 5 placings. Looks like the district that Virginia is in will again take home the team trophy. Damn, those eastern dogs are just not tough enough to tackle real western sheep!!!!!!!
  17. Mark, Your memory is soooo good. You are many years away from the "old and forgetful years". I cannot visualize how you could not see your dog or the sheep at the pen. I have a picture of my dog and Lyle at the pen and it looks like there is nothing to prevent you from seeing them. Can you explain to this jug head. P.S. They did not get the pen.

  19. Thanks AK Doc ....but I just realized that I have a good friend who has only been retired for a year and he was a jet pilot. Some (many)times, I don't think of the obvious. My real concern is how the flight could effect Mick's hearing. A deaf or hearing impaired dog can't herd. It is also hard to send Mick away for training but I will deal with that.....somehow. A..... don't you dare comment. Rob......Have you heard any more results from LeBar's

  21. A,. I could always make your cap story come true if you "upset" me. Love your new logo. Who originated that quote? Yes, how is Nap?
  22. I don't know you "Pearse" but you made my morning. Love your wicked sense of humor. Pup is going to Alberta. I hope to fly him as excess baggage with Scott when he flys out of a clinic in London (Canada)
  23. I have never flown my dogs before so I am a little naive or ignorant about flying them. All of us know the story of Dale who became deaf from his flight from the U.K. I am planning on flying my pup to the trainer. Is there a difference in the noise level if I fly him as excess baggage with the trainer? Yes, A., I am obsessing. Yes, Jen he will be shuffling off to Buffalo or somewhere in Alberta. Denise, Robin, Elaine and anyone that is not at the finals, please give me some questions to ask the airlines and your experience with flying. Are there any pilots on this list?
  24. Hey Robin, I would love to "wine" with you as we sit at home instead of going to the finals. Need to skip the marguaritas as my drink of choice is bloody caesar......a habit I got into up in Andrea's country. Hec, they sell it in "cooler" bottles up there. Still plan on coming down to visit in November and for your trial. I plan on sitting, drinking and watching Sam, Robin and Andrea work their butts off working their bazillion pups while my pup is up in Canada driving Jen and Scott to drink. It aint all bad when you are old, fat and lazy. When did Angie suffer her serious head trauma? I know she had a head injury as she is going to let Sam drive. She will be happy to learn that her big rig is able to FLY.
  25. When did you get Katie, Rob, Blitz and Lynn? Inquiring minds and nosey friends want to know. Have fun "roughing it" with Angie. I am staying home this year. BORING.
