Only prob is I'm in Australia.........and my mum would slay me if i came home with another pup, she thinks one is enough trouble! Again, Congratulations! Give all of the pups kisses from me, Naomi
  3. Hi! It's Naomi again!!!! Remember me?! My friend Adelaide has just got a new bc called abbie but i'm not sure if she knows how to post pics on the board...... Her dogster site is http://www.dogster.com/pet_page.php?i=169126&j=t
  4. Jordi44- I didn't know you had a collie! I have one called Jana- Sable and White just like lassie! I didn't find raising Jana too much hard work at all- but I suppose she's not a BC . Do what in your heart feels right and please consider rescue...
  5. My Collie, Jana, has perfect collie ears, tipped over. The breeder seemed to be fussy about ears and told us to bring her back if her ears ever stood up and she would put some paste called Ear Weights on the inside to make them tip over. I personally don't care because she is a beautiful girl and only a companion dog. Jana's Ears
  6. This isn't really dog but anyway: My cat was outside one night when there was a rugby match on with fireworks. She got totally spooked and ran out onto the road and was hit by a car, crushing her leg beyond repair, leaving her tail hanging by a thread and causing her to lose all the claws in one paw. She dragged herself back to our back door and sat their quietly for about an hour. My brother went out once to check if she wanted to come in but he didn't notice she was injured. Then, later, my brother picked her up and noticed her leg and dropped her. We rang the vet and he went back to the surgery (it was about 9.30pm). We didn't have a cat cage so she was sitting on my brother's lap all the way to the vet. The vet had a look and he said he'd have to ampute the leg. She was kept in there for a few days and when we went to get her she had 23 stiches in her leg and 3 in her tail. We brought her home (in my dolls bed) and first thing she did when we put her down was limp up to my brothers bedroom and try and jump on the bed (one of her haunts). Now, more than a year on, she is fine and gets around very quickly and can jump quite high but we think she'll probably get arthritis in her remaining back leg. Just thought I'd share a fireworks experience Naomi
  7. I had actually looked at that site but thanks anyway Barb.
  8. When I get a pup should I get a pup sized crate then when she/he's older move into a bigger one or begin with one that's a bit big?
  9. In Australia we have a summer holiday that lasts for 6 weeks (1? months) but i'm going to be away 4 times during that peridd. Thanks for the advice Margaret. I've been puppy-proofing our house this morning , actually doing some CLEANING!!!! My room is terribubble!!

  12. I have asked a lot of people what they think of border-collie's as pets but they all say they are farm dogs and they don't do well in urban conditions. Is this true?
