  1. Thanks, I'm sure it has. I guess I'm looking for a consensus, or anything specific related to Border Collies. I've tried a few premium brands but am leery of changing food too often because that's not good. And yes, the vet has checked and he's been dewormed and all of that.
  2. I'm new to the board, hello. I posted this ques. on dog food in Health (for our 1 1/2 yr old BC.) We've given him high quality brands like Nutro, Natural Balance. Out here in CA people will arrest you if you feed your dog Purina. One trainer told me "Purina is crack for dogs." Even though back home I know my family dog was raised fine on Purina. What's up? I just want something that my baby likes, is solid, and he won't have to go 24/7.
  3. I thought this would work for our BC but it had the opposite effect. Bringing treats on walks made him completely more spastic and hyper, not knowing where to look and what to do. Plus, he seemed to get the idea that we were rewarding him for freaking out whenever he saw a dog, etc. he's not that food-motivated anyway. right now we do a simple "no" and that seems to work. we'll see. i'd try a no-pull harness over a halti. A harness is a training tool and haltis are restraints (many dogs hate them) but whatever works!!
  4. Is there a specific dog food/brand that BCs do well on? or love? Our rescue has a sensitive stomach in that he's never solid. The vet put him on WD Hill's Science Diet (to which a few trainers I talked to freaked out and told me what bad quality it was). He hated it but ate it and then had to go about four times a day since it was mainly pure fiber. What food do BCs do great on? Thanks.
