  1. Yep, i do the on floor hand feeding. Other than perhaps some pepcid or like, seems like I'm doing all I can. Thanks all for the responses! I feel better that this is "normal"
  2. I am wondering if that is the case
  3. Oh, warm food is always what we start with. Well, after I try the usual kibble. I do have someone come in mid day to let them out. I'll have her try if I don't have success
  4. My old gal is coming up on 15. She has a thryroid issue and heart murmur, both controlled with meds. I used to feed raw but have switched to grain free kibble. For quite a while she was loving it. In the morning she wants to eat but is EXTREMELY picky. Sometimes it takes four tries to find something she will eat. Everything I try works for a day or three. But then she stops eating it. I've tried different dishes for the food. I try hand feeding. We've gone through the whole gammut of foods. Strangely in the evening she eats the kibble no problem. Just went to the vet and had very thorough exam and extensive blood work. All good for a dog her age. We are stumped. Anyone have any advice? Any experience? So far she has only lost one lb. And vet says her muscle tone is good for a dog her age. For now I keep plenty of options on hand and keep rotating through them.
  5. I'm so sorry to hear this. Prayers for you and Crow.
  6. Whatever he is, he is one good looking dog!
  7. One of my dogs is now mostly fatty tumor lumps. They drive me crazy. But I've always left them on vets advice. A few years ago the one on her chest split open and oozed for several days. Probably from some falls she took on it. Antibiotics and warm compresses and it healed fine. I have one on my rib cage. I am getting it removed! I hate it.
  8. Buckeyemanohio, good on you for sticking around. No one means to be so harsh. Just a very protective group here. Good luck in your search.
  9. Teri, I am so glad to hear that it has helped her! But even more glad that she will remain with you! She is one very lucky pup!
  10. My male was castrated around one year and if it made him less keen to work and train I would hate to see how he would have been intact!
  11. Oh wow, what an amazing tribute. Buddy was a very special dog. Thank you for sharing.
  12. There are plenty of BCs that don't have much eye. Also tail position may change over time. He's a beauty!
  13. Seriously, don't discount full Border Collie. It is very possible.
  14. He looks VERY much like my Seamus who is all Border Collie. I can't post a picture for some reason.
  15. Long ago one of my dogs was running through some brush. He yelped. All I saw was one drop of blood just above his pad. He was on and off lame for three weeks. Had it xrayed. They couldn't tell if there was something foreign in there or artifact. Then he started to get a lump but it was higher up and on the side! I started applying hot compresses three times a day. Two and a half days later a buckthorn popped out!
  16. I have a friend who had a little terrier with some sort of lung cancer or lung disease. They removed one lobe of one lung. He healed well and had a good quality of life for a while longer. I can't remember exactly.
  17. I have never seen lumps like that. I sympathize with you on the frustration of not know what the heck they are. If it were me I would have the biopsy done, just for piece of mind. Good luck and please let us know how it turns out.
  18. Oh, I am so sad for you! Not what I was expecting to read this morning.
  19. That is great news! I will keep good thoughts going for these pooches
  20. You don't delete it. It will eventually go inactive. But good info as an archive
  21. I am sorry but I have to agree with Smalahundur. Pets are expensive. You need to have the financial means to take care of them for their whole life. Please think about volunteering for a pet organization since you don't seem to have the financial means to take care of a pet.
