  1. Decided to do xrays first. If they look ok we'll have the mass removed this afternoon
  2. Thank you all. She was spunky and quite alert tonight. And she ate very well. Hopefully answers tomorrow.
  3. Can't get into the vet dentist until tomorrow. She's losing her appetite. I'll update tomorrow
  4. Tyra has had horrific breath the past week. She is 15 and I thought perhaps her kidneys were going. I was going to make an appt in the morning. But I was just looking at her head on and I noticed her cheek was swollen. So I'm thinking must be an absess. I do my best to look in her mouth. I find something much worse. There is a very ugly tumor in there! Hopefully we can get into the vet dentist tomorrow. No sleep for me tonight.
  5. I keep Proviable-DC capsules on hand for those irregular times for the dogs. I have also used Fortiflora but prefer the Proviable
  6. I'm going through the exact same thing. A deaf half blind 15 year old and a 13 year old with diminished vision. All three of us cherish each moment.
  7. Because you don't have him on leash? Is he just bolting and pulling the leash out of your hand?
  8. My dog that has around 15 of these was fed a high quality raw diet for most of her life.
  9. What do you mean "they seem to be non cancerous"? Did you have a vet check them out? Did they look at samples under a microscope? They most likely are nothing to worry about but to be sure have a vet check them. My old gal has LOTS and LOTS of fatty tumors. They vet told me they do not know what causes them. And she advised not to remover them, just leave them alone. I have never heard of a product that dissolves them. I would be highly suspicious. My dog has only once had a problem with one. She fell hard on her chest where she has one and it got infected and started to ooze. We kept it clean and put her on antibiotics. Some dogs are just prone to getting them.
  10. So sorry for your loss. What a sweet face.
  11. My girl is 15, she is now deaf, she only has one eye and that eye is cloudy. She still responds to clapping, even at some distance. She moves slower than molasses so I don't worry about her getting too far away from me fast. When I clap she stops what she is doing and starts to look around for me. When she looks at me I wave my arms and she starts toward me.
  12. Thank you. This was actually done in October. She had a few days where we kept her on good pain meds while she healed. I just forgot to update this thread. Within a week she was back to eating like her normal younger self. She is clearly feeling better than she has in two years! I've also added a bit of coconut oil and Omega 3 to her diet and she is moving much better.
  13. Just an update. It turned out to be her teeth and gums. She had an extensive dental with a veterinary dentist. He gingival tissue had built up and ossified. It took some days of healing but it went very well. She is like a new dog! I wish I had done the dental sooner!!
  14. I am so sorry for your loss. Yes 2015 has been a crappy year!
  15. Eeeew, I made the mistake of googling roundworms in eye.
  16. When your regular vet thought he might have CEA did they suggest consulting with a vet ophthalmologist? Perhaps it is something else that could be treated.
  17. I think I would be skipping my regular vet and going straight to a vet ophthalmologist.
  18. As a side note I wondered if it was safe to give tumeric and cinnamon to dogs. Julie, how much did you give?
  19. Thank you for taking this pup in! I agree with above, just train him like you did your first pup. Be consistent. Perhaps he will learn faster since he is a bit older. Perhaps he will also learn from your other BC. I wouldn't be surprised if the former owner wants him back after you have him all trained!
