  1. Hi, I pulled up this topic from past post. We have an elderly bcx that has had two accidents in the house. I cleaned the mess up asap but after drying the carpet has a yellow stain. In one post it was suggested to use Hydrogen Peroxide and dawn detergent. But they didn't say how much of each to use, anybody know the answer? Thanks or if you have any other ideas I would be thankful. Lisa
  2. I'm dealing with the same thing. My bc is 12years old and already on predisone for another health issue. He is licking to the point of making sores on his legs. We have tried different creams, wrapping the leg. Some of the sores heal but the one at his front leg elbow isn't so yesterday the vet increased his predisone to a whole tablet twice a day and a heavy duty antibiotic for 7 days plus a vet appointment on saturday if there isn't any improvement. The vet is calling it granulomas. Hope this information helps. Lisa
  3. So sorry to here of your news. I'm dealing with the same situation different cancer. My dog is also on prednisone. What did the Vet tell you prednisone would do for your dog? It's suppose to help level out the blood sugar in mine. Now we are dealing with these spots on his right front and back legs where he licks all the hair off. I got some medicene from the Vet but it doesn't seem to do anything for Bud. Anyway I would be interested in what the prednisone is doing for your dog. Enjoy this time. You and Charlotte our in our thoughts.
  4. Hi Ak dog doc, I have been thinking of you alot, since I hadn't seen you reply to any board topics I wondered if you were busy with Buddy. I'm so sorry, my heart goes out to you. My dog Buddy has cancer of the pancreas. We have a special relationship as I'm sure most of us on this board do. Just because BC's are wonderful dogs. I just wanted to let you know I feel some of your pain. Take care!
  5. Thanks Don, it was very helpful.
  6. Does anybody know of a good site to get dog medical inoformation. My bc has been diagnosed with insulinoma tuomor. Any information would be gladly excepted. Thanks.
  7. Hi Lydia, This is my first time responding to the board. What an informative place. So sorry to read about Jae. I recently went through the same thing with my 10 year-old BC getting hit by a van. That completely ran over him. His whole underside was black and blue from his throat to his groin. He had a dislocated hip and his tail was broken about 2 inches back from his rump. Considerable amount of nerve damage. The tail had to be amputated and his hip put back in. Then the concern was would the hip stay in place and would he have bowel control. It's been a little over a month and he is starting to run and play. He has bowel control but his stub of a tail doesn't wag. But maybe with time he will get movement there. If that is the only thing that doesn't work I will be happy. I used him a little with the small herd of cows we had. But mostly he is a family pet that comes with me when I ride my horse or when we go camping. He use to have this prance when he walked, but not any more. He is still the same loving dog and I cherish him very much. Good luck on Jae's recovery. Lisa
