  1. I thought about cayenne pepper in her favorite areas but turns out she grabbed some hot Takis from my son and ate them up so that idea went up in smoke.
  2. Thanks for the advice. Ellie sounds a lot like Wick. I have caught her a few times downstairs and she immediately quits and gives me the ears back-I'm not doing anything wrong look. She sneaks upstairs and that is where she is getting into trouble so I guess it's the crate for her.
  3. My 6 month old BC, Ellie has started to chew on the carpeting. She typically is doing this when no one is around so disciplining her is difficult when I cannot catch her in the act. Has anyone else experienced this and if so is there something to put on the carpet to discourage this?
  4. Lots of good advice. Get away from that trainer as fast as you can. The last thing you want is for Kira to fear being with you due to the consequences of not understanding. I have a 6 month old female who is doing the same thing. She is fine in the house with anyone but when out on the leash she reacts to kids or other dogs. I have found bringing treats along with her favorite toy to put in front of her can distract her from being fixated on the stress point. Lots of work but worth it. Very cute pup. Looks a lot like my Ellie.
  5. I am glad that I got to read all this info on the dew claws. In the past when I got Cocker Spaniel puppies the dew claws had already been removed. There was a lot of misinformation out there about dew claws needing to be removed and were not necessary. When I got Ellie she had her dew claws intact. Thanks.
