  1. I absolutely agree its a fear ! just not sure how to combat this ? Jax has been around a bigger dog where he has went onto his back , legs up with submission... He will also behave towards people with some aggression.... hope it is something that will pass....
  2. When I walked jax into the training center office, another dog (bulldog) entered and was calm dog..however jax went into a frenzy of rage where I could not control his anger or pulling of the leash...he wanted to kill this dog! He turned into a wolf like creature! then there was the incident outside my backyard...there is a Boxer whom Jax has been around however this dog barks at him like crazy..last night he was not on a leash entering into house and this boxer was out in his lead barking at Jax...Jax ran over to him ..snarling showing his teeth nashing them like crazy!! but knowing just how close enough to get and not actually biting the other dog.. How will I ever be able to introduce Jax to other dogs if he behaves as such!?
  3. Jax is now 5 months and whenever I take him out to walk or dog park he gets extremely aggressive towards other dogs ! He turns into a really mean dog and now I am not sure i will be able to attend agility classes due to his behavior. He had never shown such aggression before , this is something now...any advice? HELP
  4. thank you all for theheads up and great knowledge ....i have seen a great difference with Jax aging in just a few weeks! also, my little morkie seems to be the alpha doggie and is able to give a yelp that makes Jax settle and lie down ..amazing ! I can understand where some are easily discouraged in the beginning but if they were to give a bit of time, these border collies are amazing and lovable companions!
  5. I am curious if there are any safety concerns using the invisible fence other than the points made earlier. I have almost acre of land and not worried of other animals getting into yard but more concerned of my Jax getting out to chase cars ! He seems to be content sitting under the large tree and relaxing after a good play and I hate to make him come in. I was wondering if the dog could get shocked or burnt due to malfunctions?
  6. Jax is 4 months old and seems to defy our training and commands. He has settled down some but there are many episodes through out the day where he becomes overly aggressive by jumping up growling and ripping our clothes. Have tried the walk away and ignore but he will chase after and bite us from behind. he also loves to destroy just about every article of furniture in the house if left alone for just 5 minutes!...time out in the crate helps him settle some of the time but i don't like placing him in there during the day.. also give him plenty of outside play with balls and frisbees and walks....is this what is to be expected during this puppy phase? also, he will go outside and do his business but there are still accidents..normal? he is still just a puppy I realize.
