  1. -canopy -crate -snacks for me -dog bowl -treats -leash -tug toy I'm fairly easy.
  2. Mine are similar to Liz's..http://www.gundogsupply.com/1-in--center-ring-leather-collar-by-k-9-komfort.html
  3. 44lbs isn't unusual..but 23" already? He shot I pretty fast!
  4. Running babydogs is the best! I JUST started trialing my baby, and I just love the honesty and pure innocence.
  5. That is quite large for a BC pup! Did you get him from a breeder or rescue? Like Gideon's Girl mentioned, that frog hop is usually (but not always!) an indication of rear end problems. My male will start getting stiff when something is amiss...I just take him into the chiropractor and voila! Problem solved. I've also found that some dogs don't know how to trot..they almost want to go from a walk to a gallop! But remember, he's 6 months old and just a wee baby who doesn't know how to use those limbs. If it's something that concerns you, I'd say take him to the vet.
  6. Hi! I guess my first question would be: what are your plans for with this pup? If you're looking for a pet, I HIGHLY recommend one of the California BC rescues. They are amazing! If you're wanting a working dog, I recommend Suzy at Hoof & Paw Farms or Anna Guthrie. You can find a few smaller breeders sprinkled here and there, but I can't think of them offhand.
  7. I wouldn't do the "walk-up" in my living room purely because the dog isn't working anything. It's not feeling the bubble of the livestock...unless your dog doesn't have a lot of keenness and you just want an obedient dog out there. Just wanted to add that I personally do work on my lie-downs around here when I'm out and about.
  8. Very nice! I used MEB's 2x2 method and I love it dearly!
  9. Older dogs- once a day Pups or dogs that need to gain- 3x a day
  10. Both my current boys are agility dogs, and have had a realllly hard time getting up from a 'lie down' unless given the 'break' command. We've broken the older dog on this habit, as he's more keen, but I have stopped herding with my younger all together. He's my world team hopeful and I truly didn't want to muddle any criteria. Honestly, I have no advice. Just wanted to let the OP know that we are in the same boat.
