  1. I know he is going to be a big boy! I seen the 4Health at tractor supply. BTW I went there to by cowboy magic and I love it! We added some more names to the list to narrow down.. Cyrus, Titan, Maverick, Kato, Apache, Kodiak, there was more I forgot...Uzi already has been taken off the list...lol Ahhh, thinking of names is like a chore!
  2. He is absolutely beautiful! Congrats, and good luck with your new boy
  3. Awesome! I am going to get one, we have a cabelas right by us. I also play with Neeko at night too, sometime he struggles to find the ball...Will make my late night wind down time between me, dog, and beer even more relaxed!
  4. Well tomorrow is meet and greet day. This will be our second go around (different dog). First dog a BC didn't work out, she didn't like poor Neeko. My husband found a young pup, from a rescue in Illinois. He isn't a Bc as I wanted but he does look like our dogs Bonez(RIP 2013) Raider(Rip 2009). The lady from the rescue will be coming to our home tomorrow to check out our house and of course make sure that we love him and more importantly Neeko does too. I am pretty sure everything will go well, so we are preparing for a pup ( I am kind of nervous about the puppy scene again...lol) Anyway, I was looking for suggestions on puppy food (they currenly feed him Proplan Lamb & Rice). I didn't know if what they are feeding him is a good food. Any suggestions? Also we are going back and forth with names, we agreed on something such as mobster, or something rough or army. So far we have Gotti, Kane, Uzi, and Thor. Any ideas? I have attached a pic of him, this is a picture at 13 weeks...he is now almost 17 weeks.
  5. Here is a link to the ball, it is pretty much the size of a soccer ball. It has grooves so it is easy to pick up and it is pretty sturdy. He has a couple teeth marks in it but hasn't managed to tear it up yet. It keeps him occupied by himself and the kids too for awhile...wear them both out at once. Can't Beat That! http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0084DRJKO/?tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=22659121808&hvpos=1t2&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=971630011370500789&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_567ol3apb7_b And of course I find it cheaper on this link...now that I bought one already. I've heard of the "chuck it" ball, but I don't think I remember seeing the "kicker" version, I'll have to do a search online to see what it looks like.
  6. The frisbee of course! I swear it is like crack to him. But he does like his new kicker chuck it ball. It is like a doggie soccer ball. It is kind of pricey for a dog toy in the store ($30), so I found it on ebay for $23.
  7. So, as some of you may know I lost my dog Bonez last month. We were worried about Neeko at first he wouldn't play and was super lazy (totally not like him). We considered adopting, which we tried but it just didn't work out. Neeko got bit a couple of times, and I just realized I wasn't ready, so the adoption is out. Now it seems he is back to normal....EXCEPT....he has become let's say overbearing! When my 5 year old (his best buddy) is around he is very over protective of him now. I have never been embarrassed of any of my dogs, but boy I was on Wednesday. I took Neeko and my 5 yr old to the store and bam! Out of nowhere Neeko snapped, why because of an uncontrollable dog. Neeko snapped like I never seen. I was so shocked. He is starting to become more protective of what he thinks is his son. He always has been but now it seems like since Bonez is gone it has gotten to an issue that is on the border of unacceptable. Don't get me wrong I want him to protect his family but I am trying to read into what is the issue and figure out how I can change it without him completely losing interest in my son.
  8. I wanted to thank you for your suggestion! We got a discs today, as you suggested I bought the blems...who can beat that for 6 bucks! We ordered the aero, hero, and sonic. But as you stated there is one that is softer/lighter. That is the aero and that one flies pretty darn good. The others are good to just a tad bit harder on the edges, but the aero is absolutely perfect! Thank you for making Neeko happy again . I am definitely going to order more, I would hate if one day we couldn't find them again! So far it seems to hold up durability wise...but so far so good!
  9. Of course we didn't do much as a pup with the frisbee, for injury reasons. But when he was ready he didn't get it at first, I think the hardest thing to teach him was to run out and look for the frisbee. He would sit next to me in the beginning and wait for me to throw it. What worked best for him to learn was me hitting my leg with the frisbee before throwing it, he eventually learned once I hit i am going to throw, so he is already out there. Also when starting off, I used several frisbees at once, this way he wasn't jumping (at a young age) so he would not injure himself. Although we still use the several disc method now. Which once again the tapping works, because now he hears it and will drop the current frisbee and look for the next that is coming. Good luck, I am sure your girl will pick it up...it is so much fun for the both of us.
  10. Neeko has always loved the pool. It is his 5 minute cool down before he is ready to go again and again. OMG! Love the video. That is so funny, I caught myself laughing out loud. Great idea for rainy or cold days...ha ha ha. I think a pool is in store for her! She would love it!
  11. I use bottom for sit, freeze for stay, ooooh for no. Close close is used when he is on the other side of the field/yard, this meant for him to bolt to me and sit next to me. I also use an odd whistling tone, which he responds to just as well. Yut is used for him to jump or look up when we are playing frisbee or catch, this we don't use to often but he knows to look up for it....usually bc of my miss throw. We also use this when hubby is at work, because he will be able to sleep in bed with me
  12. Beautiful! I am sure she will adapt and everything will work out perfectly. Just take it slow, she is adjusting just as you are.
