  1. I think Alta Pete stock dogs may update on Facebook. They've had nice updates of past trials.
  2. Hi everyone. Like many, I've been reading the pages for a while and am finally prompted to say hello and introduce myself and my dogs. Please meet my girls Tralee and Pickles. Pickles is my 5 year old Border Collie from rescue. We have been taking herding lessons for about a year now and we love it. Pickles has come very far, as I didn't start herding till she was sort of over trained in obedience and was treat trained to do tricks. She has also been a neutral dog for trainers here in Tucson. Plus her parents in rescue looked like Border Collies...but you never know. Our biggest challenge has been getting her to leave my side. It's been a long road, but she has actually come farther than people thought she could ever go and I'm so proud of her. Tralee will be 14 weeks old tomorrow and she weighed in at 15 pounds today! She is enamored with all people and doing well with dogs so far. She is an ABCA registered dog, and I know you'll be happy to learn that AKC is not in her vocabulary. People are always asking me why my Aussie Puppy has a tail! But I swear she's all BC and I can't wait to start herding with her! I named her Tralee after a town in Co. Kerry Ireland, where I visited once and was insanely impressed with the sheepdogs there! Not in the photo is Cody Bear my Mandarin Collie (Chow Chow/Shepherd mix) He loves his girls. But....hide your sheep from him! For no other reason than curiosity I am overly interested in how big she'll be when she grows up! Pickles is a tall 42 pounds. So, if you have any educated guesses, I'd welcome them for sure! I know you're all probably sick of all us new guys asking you to predict how big our puppies are going to be! Sorry! Haha. Georgette (George) PS...here is a short video of her dad working sheep! Sorry it's very short.
