  1. I havent had any experience with the mast cell tumors , but I do wish Sophie all the best. I am so sorry for this very sad news. Stay STRONG and stay POSITIVE Laura. Sophie needs you to be strong for her so she can fight this . With you by her side , she will put up the best fight she possibly can. The both of you will survive this together . You to will be in my prayers.
  2. I thought pure bred LABRADOR RETRIEVERS could have a colored tongues and its not just a CHOW thing ?
  3. Very nice visla you have there , Root beer ! I love Dean though , I didnt know JRTs came in those colors !! Wow ! Nice !!!
  4. Just curious , but does this look like a BC to you ? Ok , I have four BC and her , my little beagy , but someone came by and wanted to see the shepherds and I was out with my guys. The people asked iwhat kind of dogs are they , my husband answered BC , and figuring the people would recognize a Beagle . Well , wrong , they thought she was a BC puppy ! OMG ! No GSD puppy for them !
  5. Husky ? I see alot of ( cover Rikku's ears ) Yorkie.... Only kidding Rikku !
  6. Wow , cute picture ! But how could you miss the shiba inu ? Its very clear to me that this pup is part shiba inu .
  7. Using the prong collar isnt teaching him anything though. Its not showing him what your want from him . He is just feeling the prongs and reacting from it. The prong collar can be brutal if used improperly. And its never to be used on a puppy or any other dog IMO. You dont need this collar, at all. I would start with a clean slate and try using the methods described by the other members. Train with good intentions , if your tired from work or had a bad day, skip training. Your dog will sense your frustration and not want to work either. Just my two cents
  8. Its also quite fun to tell them something completely off the wall , like this dog is a mix of persian and chihuahua or maybe cattledog and siamese. The faces on some of the people are priceless , LOL.. They walk away with a really surprised , confused look on their face, and they might think your a couple short of a six pack too , but hey , who cares ? LOL..
  9. Ha ha..When he tells you how much for your food , I would have just said " I dont think so" and went and got my food from somewhere else , LOL.... Seriously , I would have liked to have flicked him the eye too ! I mean really ! But , just for kicks and giggles , I would have been interested in what breed this knuckle head thought Toby was.
  10. Terrier mix ? I do see alot of GSD in her , and a little chihuahua ! LOL... Its amazing the people they hire to work in shelters . At least hire people that have a clue , I can understand its hard work and really tough to get volunteer help , but really ! If you cant tell a male from a female dog , well........
  11. I too have had people ask me if Nem , my sable BC is part coyote. My response would be no , she is not. But people come to their own conclusions and are adamant about being right , so I just agree with them , its just easier. Even people you would think should know more about BC , insist she is not pure bred. I tell them she is , she has a very dark face, no white muzzle . That alone gives them reason to think she is not purebred. After much thought about it , I just let it go because it turns into a debate and almost an arguement and who needs that , I know what she is , she knows what she is , enough said ! I have been told my blue merle looks like a husky too. Not too many people are aware that BC come in a variety of colors , thanks to the AKC. Many people will argue that BC only come in b/w , I have tried many times to educate them , but to no avail. It only frustrates me and fuels their fire .
  12. It could be a good thing too. "Maybe" with that type of description , it would stop non-BC-educated people from getting BC . That would then lower the amount of BC abandoned on the street and in rescues. If it stops only a handful of those people , it would be a good thing.
