  1. So I've just been googling and all I can find are a 2006 lawsuit against Milan that has since been settled and a lawsuit against him by his previous publicists also settled out of court. I mean in this day and age when every little thing can be made public how can the National Geographic Channel be behind such a huge cover up?
  2. Not that I'm for or against Milan but this seems a little far fetched to me. I have to have some kind of belief that the National Geographic channel wouldn't promote a TV show that followed such shady practices. and what about the dog owners? Are they completely unaware of what's going on if this is happening? I'm sure someone would have spoken out against it publicly. I don't know, maybe I'm naive.
  3. She's so cute! In the first picture for some reason she made me think of Wil E Coyote. Name her Wiley!
  4. thanks! She's fine with cats now. I just posted the picture because she was so cute when she was small. Actually, I have 2 ferrets and both my BC's get along fine with them.
  5. I pretty much use all the same treats as everyone has listed. For beef liver and chicken livers, hearts, and gizzards, I'll give them a quick boil (it stinks!) then freeze and slice em up. I've also used sardines in the past, but those are so gross and smelly it has to be an extra special reward for sure. peanut butter cookies are quick and easy to bake too. there are tons of recipes you can google.
  6. Well that sounds very frustrating. Definitely hard when people of the same household aren't on the same page when it comes to the dog. I hope the behaviorist can help.
  7. The reason I was asking why the dog can't be crated is because they obviously don't want to leave him loose in the house if he's kept in the garage. So why not have crate trained him from the beginning? The garage can be a pretty scary place especially if there are noises outside and the dog can't see what it is through a window at least.
  8. I can't help myself but I think Borgis (BC X Corgi) are so cute
  9. I agree 100%. One of the biggest mistakes people tend to make is put human emotions on an animal. Guilt is a human emotion. Fear and distrust are most likely behind her behavior that night she seemed 'sorry'. Also, she has no idea that she's getting the extra chicken under the table because of what happened. The incident at this point is too far removed from her mind.
  10. I was going to reply almost the exact same thing! I would also add that maybe you could read the book 'Don't Shoot the Dog' by Karen Pryer. It's a great first stepping stone in learning about behavior modification. It seems like just about anybody these days can call themselves a dog trainer and make money off people. While squirting a cat in the face might be an acceptable technique to change certain behavior, I don't see how that could ever help a young dog who is fearful or unsure. It's lazy training if it can even be considered training.
  11. I live in Ontario and consider myself fairly knowledgeable on all the border collie breeders in the area and I have never heard of these people. Here are just a few of the reputable breeders in Canada although there are many other qualified breeders that breed sport dogs that are not on this list. http://www.canadianbordercollies.org/breeders.html So how does Triple T get away with not having their dogs registered with the CBCA?
