we are both old and our health is poor.
should i have not taken her?
i can't stand the thought of her in a shelter.

Make out a will and have a section in it for her just like parents do for their children. Have this person over to interact with her while your alive so that she is already comfortable with them.Originally posted by baby bc lover:

And I'm sure that planning for my demise helps ensure my longevity. As Soames Forsye says in The Forsyte Saga,
It's what you don't plan for that happens.So our family correlary is that what you do plan for doesn't happen. Worked so far with hurricanes and ice storms.

Think about your friends or family who enjoy Lucy and approach them about taking her in the event that something happens to you or your husband. I like Nancy's idea of setting aside some money for her care.
