For the 5th year, I competed in the stockdog event at the Calgary Stampede. Despite its lofty name, it's not really a world-class trial, but it is a whole bunch of fun. Lou and I had some problems at the pen which are well-documented on another thread on this board. Rex and I had a whole lot of problems involving not eating sheep.

Still, it's a real rush competing in front of a large crowd, with your name in huge letters on the scoreboard. Oh, and there's cowboys, like, everywhere.

Lou and I at the post. This is my interpretation of the cowgirl slouch.

At the pen. No, they didn't go in.

Rex is kinda ready to go, dontcha think?

And the walk of shame out of the arena.

The sheep sometimes got stuck on the boards. Here is Jamie's Roy, asking them to move along.

Rex's mom, Trax, won the aggregate for the trial.

If the sheep won't move, maybe show your teeth, says Lisa's Ben.
