frisbeegirl
Hi am now in the wonderful transition from puppyhood to young adult Border collie. Keeva is 8 months and was wondering how old generally are BC females when they have their first heat? I will spay her but with all female dogs that I have had and trained I like them to go into heat first. I know not all will agree. My vet is on board. Begining stock training later this month in NC. Was wondering if I should be thinking about that first heat? Thanks for any input.
Jim Kling
My impression is that it varies a lot by individual. Bonny went into heat at around 8 or 9 months.
