My lovely old QH mare made it to the big 3-0 last Sunday. Went home to visit, gave her her first bath in probably two or three years, needless to say a lot of scrubbing was involved. Hoped to get her trimmed up a little for the photos, but I think her hairy self looks just fine too.

She's usually not a very photogenic horse, so I'm ecstatic that I managed to get these photos of her on her birthday, wanted to share. She's doing pretty good for a 30-year old horse with non-functioning teeth! She gets a lot of senior feed :)

The photos are beautiful - I especially like the first one or two. Very frame-worthy!

The big 3-0. My old gray mare did not quite make it there. I'm glad you got to visit with her and give her a good clean-up. My Molly always loved grooming and attention.

Glad she seems to be doing so well for a senior citizen!

They are such noble animals. And to me it never is more clear than when you have those quiet rare moments with the old guard. Beautiful pictures too.
