If you have ever had a dog who had less-than-spectacular recall, you may appreciate how mortified this gentleman must be.

This got funnier each time I watched it.

I lol'ed.

Oh, gosh. I really know that feeling well. My dogs have done that with deer. Once the dog gets into that mindset it just doesn't listen to anything. You just have to hope it wears out before there is any real damage done.

That poor man. At least the dog got the herd together. Now if they can only stop everything before something terrible happens. They were all headed right into traffic.

Then there's the dog intent on going after a skunk.

The horror, the horror...

Great video.

Great video.

So far we have had possums, foxes, geese and deer. No skunks. We really have a lot of wildlife around here.

Oh Fenton...could you imagine if the drivers of the cars had not been alert and stopped. That coulda been a real expensive walk in the park.

Thanks for the chuckle, luckily I think that road is running through the center of park so the drivers would be aware of the deer.

That video should be viewing for everyone wondering why they should take the time to train a good recall :D

People who own untrained border collies should also be aware that this can happen if your dog is off leash and you run into stock of one sort or another.

You always need to be aware if there are cattle or sheep anywhere near where you are walking your dog. Even untrained dogs will just take off like this - happens in a split second. And suddenly your peaceful Sunday morning turns into a horrible mess.

I laughed so hard I cried! I never have my dogs off lead in parks etc. I believe they have good recall, but I am not much of a gambler (I believe better to be safe than sorry).
Has anyone heard of Susan Garrett, a trainer in Cananda that has web training videos? She touts a 100% recall regardless of distractions. Wondering if anyone has heard of her or has used her training.
