Ruhe sanft, liebe Kati

Stille Grüße
Christine
When all were named upon the earth
and in the sky and sea
A little creature said :
Dear Lord, there´s no name left for me.

The father smiled and softly said
I´ve left you to the end
I´ve turned my own name back to front
and call you DOG , my friend.

I'm sorry. It's never easy losing our four-legged friends. She'll live forever in your memories.

I lost a treasured friend today,
The little dog who used to lay
Her gentle head upon my knee
And share her silent thoughts with me...

She'll come no longer to my call,
Retrieve no more her favorite ball;
A voice far greater than my own
Has called her to His golden throne.

Although my eyes are filled with tears,
I thank Him for the happy years
He let her spend down here with me
And for her love and loyalty.

When it is time for me to go
And join her there, this much I know...
I shall not fear the transient dark
For she will greet me with her bark.

One part of me is glad that Kati went peacefully, heaven knows she was not the dog she was 3 years ago before she got sick. After she was sick and got better we made the best with what we had. I think back then I had lost a piece of Kati, but I think she was contend just being a dog and "queen" of her surroundings with no demands put on her.

I too adjusted to the "new" Kati, but boy there where days I cursed her illness that took away her ability to work her woolies. But you know I think all in all she was okay with being a couchpotatoe, eating icecream and bossing everyone (including me) around.

Deep down I knew a week ago that she would not be here long. I saw the tired look in her eyes, I saw she only went out to keep the wollies of the fence because I called her.

Night before last she would not even take a morsel of anything I tried to tempt her with.

Yesterday morning I told her it was okay to rest

I'm very sorry to hear about Kali. It doesn't seem fair that they are with us for such a short time. May there be many woolies for Kali to work at the Bridge.
